Arshavin To Return?

Another Week 5 spanner in the works...?
With Emmanuel Adebayor likely to be banned, the good news for Manchester City fans is that another £25m striker in Carlos Tevez could be available for Sunday's Old Trafford derby.

Robinho is out for a month with an ankle injury and Roque Santa Cruz is yet to play this season because of a knee problem, but Mark Hughes says that Tevez is "desperate" to face his old club.

"The only ones we had fit for the Arsenal game were Adebayor and Bellamy but we're trying to get Tevez back now and we all know how desperate he is to play," says Hughes. "The Argentinian medical guys were saying he would need two to three weeks but we'd like to think, and hope, that it could be less than that."

Meanwhile, Arsenal's Andrey Arshavin claims that he's on track in his recovery from groin and knee problems and has an outside chance of featuring for the Gunners against Wigan this weekend. "Recovery from my groin injury is on target," said Arshavin. "Everything is normal with the knee, too, so by the end of the week the plan is to attend training."

Other injury snippets include the news that Ricardo Vaz Te came through 45 minutes for Bolton's reserves on Monday night after almost a year out with a knee injury, and Birmingham defender Scott Dann played 70 minutes for Birmingham's reserves following a thigh injury.

If Arshavin was to return this weekend then that could mean all sorts of changes in the Arsenal set-up, even though he sounds uncertain. However, it's another piece of news that adds concerns over Arsenal players. I guess we'll know a lot more after their game on Wednesday night.

AM, I need your help!
My problem is about one spot at midfield and one on the back: I have Skrtel from which I'm afraid I won't get too many points without a CS, and Lampard that gives me every week good 12-15 points, but nothing more than that.
I thought about replacing them both for Fabregas (who has some 5-6 easy games before spurs) and Warnock (almost the perfect defender for fantasy, and sure to have CS next week). It sounds to me like a good plan, but I want to read AM's opinion about it, and I'll probably wait to the CL matches for the final decision...
What do you think?

If I had the funds to change Skrtel to Warnock & Lamps to Fabregas then it's a change I'd probably make due to the fixtures of all 4 players mentioned. However, it's really down to you to trust your gut feeling.

AM I need your advise as well.

Verm, Hertiga, Dunne,
Gerrard, rodwell, Benayoun, Rocisky
Drogba, tuncay, RVP

I am planning to replace Dunne with Sonko
it will give me 9.1 unused fund.
if i drop Benayoun, I will have 16.12 avaliable which is enough for Cesc or MTaylor.

Should I just upgrade Dunne to Warnock or get Sonko/Cesc/Mtalyor

Hi Matt - again these small decisions should really be the ones you make yourself but I will say that I don't think it's worth having both Gerrard & Benayoun this week, so that would mean for your scenario I would prefer Cesc or Taylor with Sonko in defence.

Good luck!

AM & others, I think there are some very interesting tandems for the upcoming games. I'd be curious to hear what people think the best combo is for the upcoming week?

Two Pricey Middies & and a cheapo defender - All of these guys have good match ups...

Fabregas & Sonko

M Taylor & Sonko

Ashley Young & Ricketts

Medium level Middie and better defender - Tougher match ups but have proven themselves

Lennon & Queudrue

Finally the equality play good match ups leaning a little on the defensive side...

T. Cahill & Gallas

What are the thoughts on these interesting tandems.

Very good point Douche (your name always makes me LOL) :)

It's tough to work out which way to go - I tend to try and strike a balance (e.g. Rosicky & Warnock instead of Fabregas & Sonko) but it doesnt always work.

Sonko is a great enabler this week. As you can see from my early team I've spent alot on my defence but there's still a chance I drop one of these guys to Sonko to upgrade a midfielder.

Does anyone have any thoughts on Agbonlahor or Carew for this week?

Gabby/Carew have the horrible tendency to underperform in matches they should dominate (in YFF terms). Gabby's score record last season refelected many matches of 2.5pts sprinkled with a couple games of 30+. Also, both have the tendency to score very low points for their goals, i.e 10pts for Gabby in a 1-0 win in which he scored. No other SOT to bump up his score.

As for myself, Gabby and BFAY are in my squad, which i may decide I don't trust and drop. But right now Gabby seems like a good pick if you want to stay away from everyone on RvP (possibly injured). On paper he is a reat choice. However consider the possibility of Torres which has a totally winnable away match to West Ham in which they handled twice last season. Last game ending 3-0 for liverpool. Everyone seems off Torres (all talk so far) However I might consider him.
