Rooney & Fabregas Doubts
Possibly big big news for fantasy managers...both Wayne Rooney & Cesc Fabregas could be doubtful for this weekend's games...
Rooney has pulled out of England's World Cup qualifier with Belarus on Wednesday. The Manchester United forward picked up a calf strain during Saturday's 1-0 defeat away to Ukraine. After having the injury assessed at England's training base in Hertfordshire, he has been released back to his club.
Could just be a precaution but it's definitely one to keep an eye on if you were planning on keeping him at home to Bolton.
Perhaps of more concern is Cesc Fabregas, who will miss Spain's final World Cup qualifier due to a 'serious family matter'. The Arsenal midfielder left the international camp on Saturday night in order to fly to Barcelona. He has been ruled out of action for Wednesday's clash with Bosnia, but it remains unclear as to whether the matter will affect his domestic commitments.
Arsenal are set to face Birmingham in the Premier League on Saturday, but may be forced to tackle the Blues without the services of their skipper. I imagine this will mean big changes for the majority of managers, but wait until we have more definitive news closer to the deadline.
Cheers,

It's a big dilemma, but maybe Fabregas is worth the hit of one week without points, especially with more than 5mil discount. And he may just as well start...

Arrrgh. Both of these items are trouble for me. That's what I get for being happy with my line-up. There are multiple reasons to hate the international break: no PL/YFF for two weeks and this sort of thing. Really makes you sympathize with the real-world managers. Perfectly good players keep coming back broken.
Too bad about Fabregas. "Serious family matter" sounds more than a little ominous.
@ToffeeDave: Before I forget, thanks for the podcast.
Serious family matter usually means a death of a close relative and/or injury. Certainly Cesc would stay with his family over a match vs B'Ham. Rooney sounds like he will be okay, however if he is injured then its on to RvP for me. I hope both players are recovered (injury and family) for the matches.
as for fabregas and his family matter, i have no idea what it is, but sometimes people decide to play through "family matters" and do well to kind of dedicate their playing to whatever it is that might be going on..
but, i would be relieved if rooney was injured, because it was kind of in my plans to drop him anyway. and i wouldn't be upset if fabregas does in fact miss playing because of his family matter, but that's because i missed getting him on the barndoor.
now i have arshavin (who's stock rises if fab is out)/giggs/dunn/bily/kpb(i like boateng against his former club) with drogbaberbatov up front.
PRoblem in goal.
HeiTinga/Verm/Givet(wilk,richards,pants)
been tinkering a lot, not sure i want to give up on the drog/torres/rooney if they all are healthy
thanks to AM
and
thanks for the podcast ToffeeDave, I liked it.
and @ToffeeDavePodCast - no love for ManU at home to Bolton?
Someone said it was his granddad got sick and hospitalised.
Btw Gerrard and Torres got problems as well, hope they are nothing serious as a Pool's supporter
AM -
Until this point my current team looks like :
PRoblem
Verma/Sonko/Heiti
Blini/Moko/Hunt/Stevie/Cesc
Nando/Roo
My defense is certain. So is Nando.I'm worried about Cesc/StevieG as i have them BOTH in discounts!
And i;m considering swapping Roo to Berba and Cesc to Dunn and Moko to KPB
is that a'ight?
Plz help!
And i agree with everyone!
BOO to the international break!!
Why cant they organise the Internationals like the CL, a la in the middle of the week!
That way i can see 'Pool rocket up the standings thanks to Rafa!
In Rafa we trust!! ;)
