Arsenal Injury Update

From the Press Association:

Arsene Wenger's problems this week have mounted with the news England winger Theo Walcott has picked up a hamstring injury and will miss Saturday's Barclays Premier League clash against Stoke.

Walcott, 20, played the second half of the 3-0 defeat by Chelsea on Sunday, with Gunners manager Wenger then selecting his fringe players for the Carling Cup loss to Manchester City by the same scoreline.

The hamstring complaint is described by Arsenal as "short term", and Walcott will be desperate to return as soon as possible as he is yet to complete a match this season after shoulder and knee problems.

Wenger also has Alex Song suspended for the Stoke game at the Emirates Stadium but right-back Bacary Sagna has recovered from his ankle injury.

"We had Sagna out injured but, normally, he will be available," said Wenger. "However, Theo Walcott will not be available. He has a hamstring injury.

"As for the other players we had injured, the long-term ones I do not even speak about. But the players who looked to be shorter - like (Gael) Clichy, (Abou) Diaby and (Nicklas) Bendtner - will not be available. And, of course, Song is suspended for the weekend."

Walcott's absence denies Wenger another option for the central striker role following Robin van Persie's ankle injury, which will rule out the Holland forward for five months.

Eduardo and Carlos Vela shared the duties during the Chelsea reverse.

Wenger has not spoken to Van Persie yet but has positive news following his surgery and left-back Kieran Gibbs' recovery from a foot operation.

"Kieran is doing very well," said Wenger. "I had him on the phone and it looked to be completely fine."

This news escalates Nasri to the front of my mine...

Other news -
-Torres could be back for Liverpool
-Yobo & Distin are both out for Everton so with Heitinga suspended & Jagielka still sidelined their defence is looking threadbare.
-Woodgate & King still doubtful for Spurs
-Carlton Cole & Upson out for West Ham.
-The Portsmouth players haven't been paid for November, which will surely affect morale.

I'll be back tomorrow with my Week 14 Round-Up & Week 15 Double Week Preview

Cheers,
AM

This news changes quite a bit. I really felt I needed a tottenham player, and I feel their strikers are too inconsistent. So, even though he is expensive I picked up kranjcar and sold yayga. Birmingham are much better then they get credit for imho. So here is the team

Kirkland
Gallas Ivanovic Alexander
O'hara Boateng Rosicky Eagles Kranjcar
Rooney Drogs

I really wanted to by matt taylor as I think wolves are weak at the back. Sadly, he is too expensive.
Should I keep yayga or is this the right move?

Are you referring to Yodallega? If so, KEEP him.

Also I thought Gibbs broke his foot and was out until February?

My team so far (and REALLY looks definite one, and I like it btw) is:

Kirk
Verm,Hreidar,Traore
MTay,Eagles,Fabs,O'Hara
Drogs,Roon,Eduardo

Now, my problem(s):

1) Giggs and KPB - I have both at huge dc and I'm somehow reluctant to drop them, esp Giggs, but...there is no way Giggs gonna start both matches on next DW, and I think O'Hara WILL outscore KPB. So, it makes the decision a lot easier!!!
2) If I do decide to keep Giggs then here are my options: O'Hara/Eduardo for Giggs/Brown; drop O'Hara (7,53) for KPB (6.3) and upgrade Hreidar to LYoung...!!!

I really want to keep the current team, but having no attacking force from Villa home to Hull can really come to haunt me. But then again, I've had a terrible experience last two weeks with late friday changes, e.g. Eduarardo for Defoe (2W ago) and Adebayor/Reid for Rooney/Duff (last week), arrrrgh!!! So, I'm decided to go with my first thought picks...!!! Fingers crossed...!!!

Good Luck, Everyone!!!

See you soon...!!!

I really fancy Tottenham playing a weakened Everton team this weekend and would like 1 or 2 of their playes but I don't want to do any changes to my team since I've been working on it all week.
Kirkland
Verm/Hreidarsson/Figueroa(or Vidic, depending on Figueroa's health)
O'Hara/Milner/Young/Nasri
Rooney/Bent/Dindane
I'll probably make changes tomorrow, Friday, as usual...sigh! What do you guys think?
By the way, Good Job AM...I really like your recommendations week in week out.

what does everyone think Bily's chances of starting after playing last night?

@saitofall - not sure about dropping H.Rod, though I do like Kranjcar. Wigan home to B'Ham vs. Spurs away to a crappy Everton.. but I think H.Rod will continue to be a solid performer..

Rosicky played the full 90 in Carling this week, so maybe not in line to start?

Giggs - i'm keeping him, I will re-assess next week, but i'm not worrying about the double week just yet..

I've been shopping for a MF around 8.00. Looking at Bily,Jarvis,Nasri,Huddles,Murph.

AM, how about Jordi this week?

also, as a super long sheet cheap forward how about Heskey?

I have a hunch N'Zogbia will do well this week.

that's why i dropped dindane and downgrade boateng for ohara..its to risky to have players that not having paid..

I really fancy Nasri this week..he will get the chance to play 90 minutes because of the absent of Song,Diaby and Walcott..but i already had Fabregas in my team..should i drop fabregas for nasri, and upgrading my other midfielders?
i have milner,Bily, ohara in midfield and
rooney/eduardo/agbonlahor in the forward line..

I dropped yayga, as Birmingham are solid in the back with the second most clean sheets. Everton, on the other hand, are poor at the back and are now even worse with the losses. Kranjcar is strong and as long as he starts he will score decent points. Thanks for Rosicky btw I am actually going out on the edge and picking up doyle against a poor Bolton defense.

Fabregas+M.Brown or Milner+O'Hara?? My other two middies are Dempsey and KPB

Anyone fancy Vidic? His price can't be more affordable than the current 9.18...and he has very good fixtures all the way to March!

I like the Doyle pick.
milner/o'hara sounds better, but maybe not with KPB.
i like W.Brown over Vidic, but Vidic could be a nice investment.
almost forgot about Franco, now that he's finally in the system. Cole out, good chance for G.Franc to lead the attack.

o'hara or bily?
