Week 5 - So Far

That's a bit better ... 59 points so far thanks mainly to Petrov, Santos & SWP, but Baines & Ward did little. Again, unexpected results (Arsenal, Bolton & Wolves all losing) is affecting returns across the board.

I'm up from 20,000th to 8,500th overall with DDG, Silva, Adebayor, Aguero & Rooney to go, so I'm really pleased with that. Is this the week things start turning around? I hope so!

I didn't make a single barndoor switch as I didn't feel there was anyone I desperately needed at this stage, but that could change after Sunday's games.

How did you get on today?

Cheers,
AM

LOL at Ivan Klasnic pts.. U can just not trust teams like Bolton and Wolves

Also happy with my Saturday returns...82.50, thanks to MPet, Santos (thanks to seeing the line-up just ahead of the deadline, phew!), RVP, Rangel and O'Hara. Most of those guys did surprisingly well with nice phantom/miscellaneous points, so I am pleased!

In good shape, with DDG, Silva, Aguero and Adebayor to go yet...

Started Jussikeaelen in goal, and I started Klasnic. I also had Hunt who didn't start. Sucks. I did manage to go with Ward, but he got like 1 point.

ON the positive I think SWP will be hard to drop for those that have him at 5.xx points. I had him and he came through. Thing is he's getting points without scoring goals--that's a good type of fantasy player to have.

Did Santos have an assist? Wondering how he got those points, but I've barndoored him.

That's bittersweet. I now have Santos, SWP, Silva, and Aguero as undroppables as they're all at their minimum price.

My rotating GKs policy is killing me, I'm considering just getting Hart and sticking with him all season.

43 pts thanks to SWP, Petrov. Baines returned less than half of what I paid for him. Boyata is doing OK given his price. Gibbs is no-show. Have no time to see Arsenal line-up just before deadline.

Apart from those ManU and ManC players whom AM got for 2night, I still have Brown. If Brown manages 16 pts (who knows) then this week my pts would be the same as AM's.

I am doing very well in the la liga game, surprisingly, maybe i should just stick to that.
Had Szczesney and Klasnicz, swapped MPetrov with Jarvis. Have about 5 points with around 4 to play.

22 points from SWP Agbonlahor and Osman. Took a zero from Gibbs when i had about 11.0 left to upgrade him. Anyway still have Richards Nasri Silva Young and Aguero.

So far only 27, but...still have 7 players to go. SWP scored well, Boyata and Cabaye more then covered their price, and the only disappointment was the 1 pt from Meat-sack, which is at least better than the 0 from Gibbs. Still, Santos would have been nice.

Still worried about rotation...but the 7 left are: DDG, Brown, Silva, Young, Dzeko, Aguero, Rooney.

I'm hoping at least 6 of them play, biggest worry is Aguero getting rested after playing last weekend + the full 90' in the CL.

i had klasnic in my barn door team and switched him to agbonlahor on thursday partly because i've always liked gabby as a player. That was a 16 point swing and the sort of luck i didn't get last year.

chelsea, city and qpr will make up most of my team next week

77 points, but only Silva, Aguera and Bendtner to go. Up into the top 1500 - not for long though.

Only 38 point, mainly thx to petrov and gervinho. Gibbs, Boyata, Cahill & Hunt returned a combined 6!! points. I still have DDG, Richards, Silva, Rooney and Dzeko to go. Let the hattricks come.

SWP saved the day for me and to be honest i would not have picked him without the advice on this board. Thanks guys.

Only 46.5 points,
Still have DDG, Richards, Anderson, Adebayor, Dzeko and Silva to go.
Hopefully they all work Out

Re my above post.....& DDG to come also.

Didn't really expect 2 goals from Ade, so that is a nice bonus, and Aguero - amazing!

If Silva is only worth 6.50 points after that performance there is something sadly wrong with the Yahoo scoring system.

97.5 points with disappointments from nasri, ward, and rooney. rooney was so close to a hattrick. am happy with smalllings goal though. out went stearman and henry for weright-phillips and brown.

My best week so far, with 116.0 pts. Thanks to Rooney's missed pen., he ended up with 'only' 9.50 pts. They posted a stat that only 8 of 18 penalties have been converted thus far this season? Is that true? How sad...

Silva played great, probably the best player in the Fulham v ManCity game, and yet generated 'only' 6.50 pts. Performance does not always equal YFF points, unfortunately. I think I'll still hold on to him, though.

Overall, can't complain. Two weeks in a row now with 100+ following a poor start, bringing me from 59,000+ 2 weeks ago to 36,099 now. At least I'm heading in the right direction.

A decent week with 129 points.
Thought I'd check to see if I'd top scored in Blog League 1....would you believe it, I was second....behind AM FC....well done Nic....git!!

93.50 dropped Aguero for Hernandez bad move.

Awful. Bottom scored my private group w/ 44.5, and dropped from the top 22,000 into the top 41,000. Had Scezzny, Gibbs, Klasnic, Baines and Odemwinge. They were... horrid.

All around rotten week, when I tried to take risks I figured the rest of my group (and the planet) wouldn't take - obviously for good reason! :)

93.5 thanks to Szczesny, Baines, Mertesacker & Ward contributing a BIG ZERO for the team. Totally disappointed with arsenal defensively. Screw the zone defense, this ain't no basketball Mr Wenger!!Every set piece and corner kick on our half of the court looks like a horrible nightmare.
Gervinho should hv done better, RVP played great even without a goal [should get more point if Gerv passed him the ball], Kun really saved my week with his 26.5. Silva's performance on line does not reflect his performance on court, SWP looks promising, Osman is another disappointment.
I did barndoor C.Dempsey for Ward and Osman though looking at their next match up. Thinking to jump out Baines wagon. For the points he's getting every week, he's just simply too expensive.

97 Points for the week, with 490 year total.
Actually, I am very happy with this weeks results.
My decisions are becoming easier with each game I am able to watch, giving me a better perspective on players, coaches, and strategies. I still need as much advice as I can find but feel like I have made a nice move forward somehow. Some of my decisions did miss their mark, like dropping Adebayor for Hernandez but overall I believe I am seeing things better.
Hopefully, looking forward to "paying back" those who have been so helpful by offering some usable insight of my own which would be a nice change to my normal blog babble.

Hope everyone did well..
