Week 14 - Update
We've had a whole bunch of new injuries since Wednesday's player picks and plenty of news regarding some unlikely recoveries. I'm expecting the news to come thick and fast and I'm going to be constantly updating this post as the day goes on so you'll need to keep checking back to to ensure you're working with the latest information!
What we know at the moment...
Steven Gerrard will miss up to 4 weeks with the hamstring injury picked up late in England's latest international disappointment vs France. All of a sudden, that "stand-out" fixture vs West Ham doesn't look so easy.
Some brighter news for Liverpool - Fernando Torres will be fit after shaking off an ankle knock, while Martin Skrtel, Dirk Kuyt & Glen Johnson are also ready to return. This means one of my recommendations, young right-back Martin Kelly, will almost certainly find himself benched. I'm guessing Paul Koncheskey could find himself taking some set pieces in Gerrard's absence (if not, who else!?) & I expect Torres would be on penalties.
UPDATE Scott Parker is ill and is likely to miss the game. This is probably a bigger blow to West Ham than Gerrard is to Liverpool. Torres anyone?
Mixed reports on Charlie Adam, who was another player injured whilst representing his country in midweek. He's got a problem with his knee and wasn't able to train yesterday, but while Ian Holloway has put him as extremely doubtful for the home game vs Wolves, Adam himself think he'll be ready. Hopefully we'll have some clarification later today. UPDATE No further news, he's 50-50, but I'm leaning towards keeping him @ 5.4.
Matt Gilks is definitely out for 2-3 months with a broken knee-cap (ouch) so Kingston will continue in goal.
Things just keep getting worse; Chris Brunt injured his groin playing for Northern Ireland and is struggling to be fit for the weekend. My gut feeling is he's going to miss out as groin injuries take longer than three days to recover from, but again lets wait for the Di Matteo's press conference this afternoon. UPDATE Similar to Adam, we have no confirmation on Brunt but at his current price of almost £10m I'm going to steer clear of him.
We're still awaiting an update on the back spasm that caused Joe Hart to miss the France game. If he's set for a spell on the sidelines then Given becomes a very viable option at around £7m, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Hart make a miraculous recovery. UPDATE Hart should be fit to play.
As we know, John Terry is continuing to have problems with a leg injury and reckons he could be out for weeks or maybe even months.
UPDATE I've just watched Ancelotti's press conference and Alex is fit to play but will require surgery soon. He'll partner Ivanovic in central defence. Zhirkov picked up an injury on international duty and is OUT. Malouda will drop back in to midfield with Ramires & Mikel, so I guess it'll be a front 3 of Kalou, Anelka, Drogba. Ancelotti hinted that Bosingwa will continue at right back despite playing 90 minutes for Portugal.
Tom Huddlestone is out for 3 months after Spurs decide he needed an ankle operation, so I expect Jenas, Palacios & Sandro to share the minutes until he recovers. Better news is Defoe & Lennon should be ready to return, at least to the bench for the North London derby.
UPDATE Rooney has a chance of starting on the bench but has not trained all week.
UPDATE Darren Bent could be fit for Sunderland, so would partner Gyan in a 4-4-2
UPDATE Fulham's Dembele is out for 3 weeks with an ankle injury
That's everything for now, please keep checking back & also add any injury news you hear/read to the comments section below to help your fellow blog readers (and me!).
How's your team looking in light of all this injury news?

can anyone help me?should i keep vdv or sell him??is he going to play this week?
What about Rooney?
Keep him if you've got him at a discount.
I was going with Brunt but I think I'll get shot if he's a doubt. Need points from everyone this week...
haven't heard anything about VDV not playing. keep
@GunnerArt - presumably Rooney will be on the bench at best? £16m is a lot of money for a sub
Kingson; Kolarov, Zhirkov, Konchesky; Holden, Milijas, T.Cahill, M. Petrov; Gyan, Elmander, Saha
if u had him on discount why not just keep him.
i think he'll play
No news on Rooney yet, only rumours in the press. As soon as I hear something official it'll be posted up but I'd think carefully before of splashing the cash on him straight away.
Who do yas think will play in centre mid for Liverpool this weekend with Gerrard, Lucas and Cole out? Jovanovic or Poulson to partner Meireles?
Hernandez or Macheda (Or neither?).
Who will play at midfield for Newcastle with both barton and Tiote suspended?
Keep A Johnson and Malouda??
drogba/ malouda/ welbeck/ p.ferreira
or
torres/ nani/ kevin davies/ konchesky ?
Thanks AM and Pop. 15.69 is no small change, but even a 0 would better than Tevez and Torres combined last week!
About VdV, I would keep him and personally I will too whether he plays or not.
Re: Malouda has really suffered as a result of a shaky defence, unimposing/creative midfield and a struggling Drogba. He wouldn't be my pick.
@Emperor
Second one looks better as all home games, why not switch Davies with the much cheaper Hernandez?
@Michael
Thanks for your opinion...i'm going to do that...my biggest dilemma was between torres/nani or drog/flomal ..but i'm going with torres/nani
who's going to start for chelsea at centre-back ? ivanovic and ferreira/bruma ?
GOOO Jerkoff!!!!
How about J. Boateng? I saw in Physioroom that he is out with no return date.. Is it true? Because no one talk about it ...
No way, Davies is on PK'S and chicharito might not start.
krul
bale zhirkov kolarov
vdv holden albrighton nani c.adam
gyan chamakh
c.adam injured..can anyone suggest me who the best player to replace him...have 11.13 on bank... How about handerson? Any commnet....
@ AFM
Personally, I would be looking at Holden, Nasri, M. Petrov or Jarvis - all priced around your budget if you are not looking to upgrade elsewhere. Holden is solid most weeks and Nasri has looked impressive this season.
Does anyone have any news on who will start at right back for Man Utd, O'Shea, Brown or Rafael?
SGF
konchesky/welbeck/hoilett
or
holden/p.ferrerira/m.davies (@1.93 ,great filler)
Joe Hart is starting
Boateng is ok, only doubts for City are Richards and Barry.
guys..any latest news on c adam and brunt?? will they play??
carson
coleman-zhirkov-kolarov
nani-VDV-nasri-kuyt
odemwingie-elmander-gyan
might not risk kuyt, but if he is back I quite fancy him (not like that)
so might switch carson/kuyt for reina/w.brown depending on team news...
opinions?
ta
How about David Dunn? Will he start?
Last season he was penalty taker
i have 12.49 to spend.
any player that u guys can suggest?
i'm stuck
Confirmed sidelined: (Terry, Gerrard, Huddlestone, Caldwell)
J. Hart - 1 Wks
C.Adams - 1-2 Wk
C.Gardner - 1-2 Wk
S.Parker - 1 Wk
Doubtful:
D.Kyut
J.Cole
C.Brunt
R.Ferdinand
Syz....
Not knowing your current line up....
May I be so bold as to suggest V.D.V. (if starting) at 12.26
Milijas.....12.33
This week....Van der sar!! 12.34...
It would appear that Zhirkov is out and Alex is in for Chelsea, according to the press conference. Bosingwa/Ferriera is up in the air.

Backcountry Dave
haha.thanks ken.
milijas seems interesting tho.
my lineup so far.
jussi
j.boat zhirkov bale
nani adam VdV nasri ??
gyan elmander
and now zhirkov is out i've to pick another df.
Zhirkov out is doing my head in. I can't find a replacement. Have 10.15 in bank. I can choose a player from any position. Any suggestions?
bengoh91
Kirkland
Bosingwa Kolarov Coleman
Nani Nasri Cahill Holden Nolan
Kalou Gyan
Any comments or suggestions would be great! Should I stick with Bosingwa and Holden?
can't beleive bosingwa is a doubt yet again due to ferreira. aaaaahh!. these 2 or 3 weeks have def been worst i can rememb for injuries/susp/rests. again 50% of my team has been in doubt. i switched torres to gerrard on wed aft. that put the curse on him ! so now back to torres. adam- was very tempted to sell this morn. think i talked me'self out of it. brunt is annoying too. better to know now though. with ars and man u getting key strikers back ( roon, rvp, bentdner ) it's just gonna get more difficult. i wouldn't be that surprised if nani got a mini-rest & was on bench.
S.P.
Thanks AM -- good work
If Brunt is out then suddenly Dorrans becomes set piece king at West Brom...
If Zhirkov is out and Malouda moves into his place then does his attractiveness go up - I think he plays better coming from deeper...
Nani must be the premium pick of the week. I really really really wanted Milijas but just can't fit him in with Nani too...
I thought Allbrighton was tremendous v ManUre, reminded me of Ashley Young's BFAY days - he is in...
Anon I think Dunn is a big shout - one of my personal favourite players FFwise, like Adam, takes and controls everything from the middle, and gets his fair share of goals... 7.97 could be ideal replacement in my opinion (if we think he starts!!)
Don't trust anyone who claims that it is confirmed that a player is out unless they provide a source. There is a lot of good information here, but occasionally you get some idiot who just tries to mess with you.
Ive heard on BBC that Odemwingie is out...
"West Brom
Doubtful: Bednar (illness), Brunt (groin), Dorrans (foot), Morrison & Odemwingie (both knee), Reid (Achilles)"
Any one hear re Odemwingie??? Playing or not?
Currently have:
Jussi
Boateng-Kolarov-Bosingwa
Adam-VdV-Nani-Milijas-Fabs
Odem-Gyan
OR...thinking of:
(Carson)
Boateng-Kolarov-(Steinsson)
Adam-VdV-Nani-Milijas-Fabs
(Torres)-Gyan
Odemwingie or Torres (or Carroll??)? The additions of Carson and Steinsson are just to fit in Torres. Is it worth it?
elmander or gyan at market price?
Malouda doesn't score big point playing deep, all his big scores came as a forward. I wanted to pick him this week but now i'm staying clear.
I have seen a LOT of interest in Elmander, which is probably justified by the match-up, but ALL of his goals have been on the Road. he has only been, OK at home... take a look at his scoring history.
Something to chew on.
Love the post about not believing everything you hear or read....
Signed.....anonymous!!!
funny stuff!
@Alex...i'm totally agree with you..at home,i'm expecting davies to shine..
-raff-
carson
kompany, bosingwa, brown
malouda, vdv, nani, nasri
carroll, torres, chamakh
any comments plz????
Kingson
S. Coleman -- A. Kolarov -- P. Jones
VDV -- Nani -- Malouda -- S. Holden -- D. Hoilett
Chamakh -- Gyan
I'm not too sure about my front line. Was thinking about putting Berbatov in place of Gyan. Also haven't had the best of luck with Chamakh. Any suggestions? .1 in the bank.
Carson
Vidic Evra P.Robinson
Nani LeeChongYong Muamba Kuyt
Davies Berba Kalou
Any Input??? Not sure about kuyt but I have a hunch
Gyan or Odemwingie?
Kuyt or Park?
looks like people's teams are going to be very different this week for a change. here's mine...
Kingson
Kolarov - Coleman - Vidic - P.Jones
VDV (@6.14 he stays all season!) - Nani - Pienaar
Elmander - Gyan - Kalou
Banking on a few clean sheets here. Not too keen on Kingson, but he was a gut choice and I go with those. Kol, Coleman and Vidic should ll get some points, and I have a feeling Rovers will keep a clean sheet against villa to prove to their new owners why they just bought the club
VDV is only there as he's a keeper, i don't expect him to get massive points v arsenal. I'm expecting 20+ points from Nani, minimum! Pienaar is again a bit of a gut choice.
Elmander is on form so I feel I can't miss out. Same with Gyan, and Kalou has a point to prove. Drogba hasn't been on form, Malouda is dropping back to midfield, so I expect at least some phantom points from him, if not a goal!
Any thoughts?
@rwlwhite - I'm kind of leaning towards Kalou and Elmander as well. I'm thinking of dropping Fabs because of the matchup and adding Kalou + Elmander up front. But, still not sure...I have this horrible feeling that the week I drop Fabs he will score 35 points...
Favourite quote "UPDATE No further news"
whys that ur fave? his original text said we wait for clarifciation, there was nothing so he update us on that. ur a jerk
i will not involved with the doubtful players..so my team will be like this:
Fabianski
Bale Boateng Kolarov
Nani Scholes Hoilett J.Thomas
Hernandez Drogba Torres
any comment?
Can we say 6 goals this weekend????
Carson
Zhirkov (I know out, but cheap)-Bale-Boateng
VdV-Nani-Holden-Cattermole
Gyan-Odemwingie-Torres
or am I dreaming????
A1
So after very very long time (mid of last season) dropped bale. hard to leave but think thats the time.
fab
boateng kolarov vidic bosingwa
adam vdv nani milijas
gyan torres
2 mancity defender is risky but hard to resist their discount prices vidic will be my premium defender after bale (at least for 3 wks)
hope milijas and torres will score this wk
i know i spent lots of money to defence but cannot find anybody at forwards.
any suggestions?
MK
Chicharito or Ebanks-Blake?
@ A1--
If you're keeping Zhirkov even though you know he's not going to play, then yes, you are dreaming. Drop him now and then pick him back up on the BD if you really want to keep him.
@Anon 1:16--
Chicharito.
I'll be out also. Don't pick me this week.
shitirito is useless
MR K
My Team:
Reina
Boateng/Squillaci/Salgado
VDV/Silva/Albrighton/Vaughan
Drogba/Odemwingie/Torres
need any changes?
JS
Reina
Coleman Kolarov Boateng
Adam VDV Nani Milijas
Torres Gyan Kalou
Risking with Reina. Liverpool might be poor but Reina is still playing well and I still expect them to beat West Ham. Torres seems to be scoring again so ill go with him.
In defence, I know having 2 city defenders is risky, but they're dirt cheap at 4.XX and City is playing very defensively, so I'll hold them for now.
Adam, VDV and Nani are SK for now, while Milijas is just a gut pick.
Kalou shld start and is cheap for Chelsea, while I'm paying full price for Gyan as I have excess funds left and no where to spend
@ A1
Drop Zhirkov, He's only 6.40 now at full price so you wont be losing much discounts and is still very affordable at full price. Plus I wouldnt count on Zhirkov as SK as he is definitely a rotation risk or even benched when Essien and Lampard are back
@JS - you're defenses look a bit weak. Squillaci and Boateng both haven't produced much other than CS points, and they don't have easy opponents either. Going for both Torres and Drogba is risky. Drogba have been relatively cold in the past month and LVL just can't score (only 13 goals in 13 games) so I can't see huge surplus from Torres, although I fancy him to score a goal. But if you are satisfied with players who might return their price but don't expect much more, then you are better off going for cheaper forwards like Elmander or Kalou and updating your MF/DF.
What do people think about my team?
Jaaksleleinen
Coleman Kolarov Jara
VdV Cesc Nani Holden
Kalou Odenwengie Agbonlahor
my line up for this week..
carson

adam, kuyt, or nasri
fabregas or torres
chamakh or odemwingi
i saw majority of u guys put nani in ur side..including me..but i here some rumours, he might not start because he only return to manchester on friday due to international game..
fabregas / odemwin / hernandez
or
nasri / torres / chamakh
or
kyut / torres / odemwing
please vote/comment much appreciated?????
@JS- No need to worry about your defence, that's the best line Up i've seen. Squillaci and Boateng have a chance of CS like any defender out there today.
anon @4.21.. where did u hear this rumors?..
If Nani doesn't start i guess Valencia will start in his place? He's the best United player at the moment expect him to start as long as he can stand.
Valencia is out injured. If nani doesn't start, most probably it's Obertan.
BUT, where does this rumor come from? Any written news about it?
I'm starting to worry as I have Nani in my team.
AM, can clarify? Thanks :)
I only started playing last week picked up 68 points and beet the guys in my imediate group (ha ha), picked up Bale on BD @15.34.
Should i flick him and beef up midfield and forwards?
Currently
Carson
bale steinesson kolarov
vdv albrighton holden milijas, milkel
chamakah kalou
Cheers
Suzie From Australia
There's no need for AM to clarify, the only way Nani wont start is if there's no epl game this weekend,i kept him while he was out injured, so picture me dropping him on the back of a baseless rumour.

The Reds will make a late decision on Nani, who only returned to Carrington today (Friday) after his midweek international exploits with Portugal.
still with the same team last week
cech
bale - kompany - kolarov
adam - barton - van dervaart - milijas - nani
gyan -tores
cech : never doubt bout his capability, the worse for the def, the good one for him
bale : 1st priority..
kompany : good invest, i bought him at 6
kolarov : what a good dealing last week, got him at 4, and he's playing impressive last week
adam : still 50-50, but i prefer to keep him in my team, i took him at 5
barton : still miss the game, it's okey
van dervaart : took at 5, keep surprising me with his points
milijas : new comer in my team, took at 8, always get minimum at the same price
nani : 1st priority
gyan : including in my scouting, i know when he's got regular position, he will pay for that
torres : not happy with his performance this season, but i will give him a chance, cause i've got 16 milio in my pocket
Indeed there were some rumors about Nani but I think he will start as Manyure has no proven winger at the moment. I reckon Fab will star in the North London derby. Fingers crossed...
Heard,, Robert Pires may be put in the first 11 players for Aston Villa tonight but no Robert Pires in Yahoo Fantasy ... what may come...
pls comment my team week14:

should i change the in-form elmander to the hotncold kalou? what are kalou's chances?
or holden to cikarito/kalou/kuyt?
helpppiiee!
any news on odemwingi?
@hbt
I think better stick with Elmander. He is on from right now.
I am just concern about Holden. Will he be in the first eleven. Maybe Owen Coyle gonna use Petrov with Taylor..
Kuyt is a great bargain this week. Gerrard is out so Kuyt might get more opportunities to shine.
Chicharito might not play in the first eleven. Fergie may use Berba-Macheda combi this evening.
My line-up
Carson
Boateng,Bale,Kolarov
VDV,Nani,Milijas,Kuyt,Holden
Gyan,Elmander
Last min change from Odemwingie to Kuyt as i hv hunch he could have a big week..Liv desperate for the win..Odemwingie has failed me evrytime i pick him, myb i'll b wrong on this but well that's the risk i'm willing to take
Good Luck everyone!!
Hart
Coleman Kolarov Enrique
Barton VDV Albrighton Milijas Mereiles
Torres Tevez
Last minute changes dropping Bale, Odemwingie, Elmander and Adam for Torres Tevez Mereiles and Enrique.
I have a sneaking feeling that Gerrard's abscence will liven up Liverpool, just hope Torres is fit enough to get a brace. Bale should do well but was too pricy @15
Odemwingie is likely to be moved out to the wing if fit and Adams injuries have finaly caught up with him. So in comes Tevez who should do well with City dominating the posession and Mereiles who may benefit from a more central role against the leakiest defence in the Premiership.
Backroom politics upsetting Chelsea so I have stayed clear.
- Casually Speaking
Carson
Tamas / Steinssen / Coleman
Adam / Nani / Dempsey / Kuyt
Odemwingie / K. Davies / Berbatovp
C.Adam fit and starts for Blackpool..Odemwingie in the first eleven as well :-)
