The Blog Cup - 2nd Round Results
The cut-off to qualify for Round 3 was...
69 points!
...precisely 450 teams go through (although if Yahoo make any more adjustments this could change - hopefully not). I actually thought the cut-off would be a bit higher, maybe 75 or so, but this proves it was a low scoring week all-round.
In true cup style we've had some more giant killing - teams highlighted in yellow have totals of less than 600 points so far this season and are some way down the overall rankings, but they've progressed to Round 3 - congratulations to them and every one else who made it through. My team made it in 154th and The Blog Team crept through in 415th place.
It's all over for the teams scoring 68.5 or lower - those in the darker shade of grey are teams in the overall top 1000 or so with totals of over 750 points so far this season, so they would've been expecting to progress, but alas it was not to be.
If you've gone out or failed to get into a blog league then do not fear - another competition will run later in the year and I'll be creating at least 2 more leagues for this to bring the total up to 1000 teams!
Round 3 takes place in Week 12, where we'll reduce 450 down to 300, saying goodbye to another 150 teams. I'm looking forward to that already!

it's weird how I'm currently 85th in all YFF and got knocked out of The Blog Cup in the first round. Rather disappointed considering where I am overall.

Hey cool, I'm still in it!
Thanks AM for everything, the info and the time running this game within the game (which is all a fantasy based on "real" games, wow, that's a lot of meta going on,huh?).
It makes YFF even more fun, and while I unfortunately haven't had time to be very involved in chat or commenting on the blog this year, I'm tuning in every week and really appreciate your hard work, and the whole community's enthusiasm and freely given advices (and mockeries).
My second year (hence 'Mikl's Sophmoric Efforts') and it has been pretty tough, but I'm very happy to make the cut of 450. Hopefully this minnow will stay alive for a round or two more.
