Week 29 - My Team

Howard, Kolarov, Coleman, Ridgewell, Baines, Osman, Bentley, Arteta, Carew, Zigic, Saha

Sorry for the late post, I've been busy. Awful start, no Coleman, no Zigic, -2 for Ridgewell, Carew subbed. Oh well, there's always game two, but it looks like it's going to be a terrible terrible week!

Your team?

Cheers,
AM

  17. T_T terrible manager who bought in terrible benched players sobs sobs

    ReplyDelete
  18. Has anyone noticed that Sessegnon, who started today and has played regularly for Sunderland, is not listed in Yahoo? I like his game. What's the deal?

    ReplyDelete
  19. NaNi for tomorrow ! Torres for Monday !!

  20. i'm the man.
pick me for next week guys!

  21. 20 something with 9 to play. i followed someone's advice on here that phil neville was guaranteed to score a hat trick, whomever said that is an idiot. oh wait, it was me.

mine to come include nani and rooney, and if they score big points then real football will have gone well so i can forget about fantasy football.

    ReplyDelete
  22. 86 with nani rooney and 6 DG to go! thanks to demba ba and hitzlsperger. btw, good work AM, keep it up!

    ReplyDelete
  23. 76.5 points with Foster (DOH!!) and 9 other DG to go.
    BD as follows:
    Robbo
    Baines / Evra / Walker
    Nani/Hitzl(23pts this week YO!!)/Beaus(15.5)/Nani
    Suarez/Carew/Bent

    ReplyDelete
  24. Tevez got 0 is that even real

    ReplyDelete
  25. 4 Birmingham players = 3.5 pts. D'OH!
    7 DGers in general = 22 pts. D'OH!

3 other players = 36 pts. Saved me! Thanks Hitzlsperger!

Overall, I guess it turned out ok, since I went up 33 places. It's not much, but it's better than I thought 58 pts would get me! The problem is that I have no players now until the Everton v Birmingham match, so I'll probably drop a bunch over the next couple of days.

I immediately dropped all my DGers except Osman.

    Hart
    Kol-Luiz-Walker
    Hitz(is a hit!)-Nasri-Osman-VdV
    Dzeko(I don't know why)-Carroll-Ba

3.2 left. I'm tired of waiting on Dzeko to do something, he'll probably go, too.

  26. My team for week 29:

    Howard
    Kolarov Baines Ridgewell
    VDV Arteta Lampard Bent;ey Rodwell
    Zigic Saha

What a shite team it turned out to be. Should have kept Ba and Hitzlsperger on discounts. Not only have I lost the discounts but I lost pints as well. Only 43.5 points with Lampard, VDV (if he plays) and 8 DGmers to go. My worst DG week ever.

  29. so all of you pool supporters. i am liverpool fan today, i hope they dominate manure. i hope suarez, meireles, kuyt, etc each get braces and united fail to have a single chance. go liverpool. if they beat united i will scream at the top of my lungs that liverpool is the best team ever and rafa benitez is the best coach in the whole world.

    ReplyDelete
  30. i sold saha & bentley to get tevez..what a terrible selection.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Howard
    Coleman Ridgewell Jiránek
    Arteta Bentley Osman Bowyer
    Beckford Tévez Zigic

Absolute rubbish. I was nervous about going "all in" on two iffy teams, so I splurged on Tevez. As AM indicated in his preview, it was a risk because Tevez and Man City run cold periodically, but it seemed like the best single-game match-up. Of course, he got me exactly 0. I could've picked pretty much any starting striker and gotten more points for 1/2-2/3 the cost. Ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh, and that line-up's gotten me 61 points so far. I look forward to Everton and Birmingham conspiring to make it worse.

    ReplyDelete
  33. suarez is the most telented striker in english primier league...young, strong, full of skill, fast & creative...load im now managers....

    ReplyDelete
  34. Suarez continues to provide good value.
Bought first week at 6+ and provides double returns.

    ReplyDelete
  35. anon, --- yeah, regret to drop him this week thought he won't perform well against united.. but i quickly pick him at bndoor today..

    ReplyDelete
  36. well nani looks to be out for some time, from the picture you can see here looks horrible

  38. Got burned again by Yahoo for holding a player in the background for a while, then bringing him back in (without ever actually selling). It was Osman this time. Cost me about a unit. Seems to happen sometimes if a price update occurs while you have someone on "about to sell" status. WTF?

  40. P.S. Shit week with a -6 from Fuckster, 3pts from Baines and 4 from Saha for an overall crappy 44 pts with Lampard and 8 double gamers to go. Have a feeling it might get worse on Wednesday.

    Sani.

  41. I think I need to apologize to a few people as I pushed Tevez pretty hard on Chat Friday nite and I think at least one if not two folks switched up their roster to put him in, and well, we all know the results.
this week has gone absolutely against pretty much what everyone expected. I guess that is why they, and we play the games though!

    ReplyDelete
  42. the best news of all.. liverpool beated man utd 3-1!!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Its always easy to shit on greginho, i always look forward to it and it seems i'm not the only one. Question is, why is he the only one who get dissed week in week out? Surely he's not the only one posting with his name. He seems to be a lil retarded but if he really is then i'm sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  44. After all the noise he quietly dropped Van Persie. The week he was telling everyone to drop Nani, he held on to him and Nani scored 20pts.

    ReplyDelete
  45. at the time i said i was keeping van persie, he was only out 2-4 weeks, then it became 4 or more. the week with nani, i never said to not pick him up, i said he was a candidate for rotation but i kept him anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Enough of the lame trolling. This weekend has been a disaster for my team so far. Tevez and Foster got -6 between them and cost so much cash. At least I picked Hitzlsperger. Who has everyone got in on the BD so far?

    ReplyDelete
  47. sulldaddy no worries friend, tevez was number one captains choice on the fpl game by quite a margin, number two choice was zigic, three arteta. so awful first and second choices. i dropped tevez as just too expensive.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Pick me baby!!!

  49. I HATE DOUBLE GAME WEEK!!!...

my biggest transfer failure this week was not Tevez or Zigic or David Luiz!!

My biggest transfer failure this week was to drop HITZLSPERGER @ 5 for Jiranek only for his no-show and 0 pts while HITZLSPERGER scored 1, assist 1, 2 SOT and a massive 23 pts!!...
and it's still hurt when I'm writing this. 59.5 pts with 7 players to go (luiz, jiranek, zigic probably no show).

    cheers,
    MRA

  50. what happened to the myth that man utd come strong in 2nd half of the season.!!! unbeaten 1st half..now 3 defeats !. didn't happen either in 1992 when leeds pipped them, or when arsenal won with overmars goal at o.t. or during any of mourinho years, when Jose had the title won by Feb !

    ReplyDelete
  51. The difference this year is that no team is MAN enough to capitalise on the wobbling and fumbling of MAN U, who might still go on to win the EPL title...

    Heart-broken Gunner (as usual).

  52. Looks like Luiz may have recovered to play against Blackpool tonight.

    ReplyDelete
  53. It really warms my heart to see that van Persie is training again.

  54. Yet another Arsenal player being thrown back in to action too early, making his injury worse. Do they never learn?

  56. The Arsenal website says that RvP has travelled to Barcelona and could well make the match-day squad.

Am i the only one starting to regret dropping him @ 9.xx?

    ReplyDelete
  57. everyone who dropped rvp did the correct thing based on the information provided by the club. his miraculous recovery will all end in tears so dont beat yourself up over it

    ReplyDelete
  58. This is great news for Arsenal and I hope that RvP can keep fit and continue to keep his exceptional form. I too dropped him last week and I may come to regret the decision, but for now I'm happier about his recovery than losing him on my team.

Anyone know how Valencia is recovering? I don't quite believe Nani has any serious injury, but at 6.75 I'll need to grab him at the right time.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Guess it all came out in the end.

My decision, so far, to avoid the "double gamers" for this week (could) have paid off for me but....

The trick is, picking the correct players. Finally dropping Nani ended up as a good play, Picking Tevez, to replace him was not!

Torres going today and only 3 d-gamers on my team and sitting on 66 points. Could have been much, much, better.

Looks like I am in good company anyway....

    ReplyDelete
  60. Terrible week so far, 65.5 with 10 dg to go, thats bad but then to rub salt into the wounds......this......Robin van Persie has been named in Arsenal's squad for their Champions League tie with Barcelona.

  71. Good news - Stuck with Lampard. 98 this week with 8 DGers to day. After being ranked around 10,000 overall in November, I cracked the top 1,000 at 803.

Bad news - Like others, I dropped RvP. But as the commenter noted above, with all the information, it was the right call. Who knows? He might not make it back for long.

So I'll go forward with three discounts - Kolarov(4), Lampard(13) and Tim Howard(3.79) - and try to get under 500.

I'm hoping like others that Zigic, if healthy, will actually play. And Ridgwell doesn't go minus again.

    ReplyDelete
  72. also dropped RVP. but as an Arsenal fan, i like to see him stay fit. we are still title contender, so let's hope for the best and wish him well!

    ReplyDelete
  73. shit i was having lampard, g cahill and hitsper in my team and dropped them last minute...really waste la my points...:((((((

  74. I don't regret dropping Persie, as i have Bale whom i don't particularly fancy, plus 8.00+ left. Can get him back if he stays fit.

You can create a google account(mail) and sign in your google account/profile each time you post.

lampard's pts moved me from 500th to 213th (2nd half ranking). It shows how small the gap and one monster week will move you to the leaderboard.

Tevez/hitz/lampard returned 150% value and I need saha, zigic, arteta, osman, colemen to stay quiet next game.

I hope I can make it to the next round of the blog cup.
