Double Week Confirmed

From The Fantasist live-chat...
Indeed it is (a double-week for Blackpool & Liverpool). Points will be awarded for BOTH games involving those two sides, including when they face each other next Wednesday. No points will be awarded for players selected for the original fixture last month, only the upcoming rearranged one, so it's time to load up on Reds and Tangerines this week. Let's hope that puts the matter to rest. Apologies for any confusion...

So all the information given to us regarding "no more double-weeks" and points for postponements was incorrect. The rules remain the same as previous seasons, which is good news, but the communication from Yahoo has been very poor.

In terms of team news I have to recommend you visit Fantasy Football Scout this week as I'm unable to provide updates. You will find all the latest info via these two links:

Good luck!

Cheers,
AM

  3. The trouble with the double week is that, with so many games so close together, players are bound to get rested. So, while it seems good in theory, there could still be some major disappointments.

  4. Should I drop my discount Holden (5.47) and Carroll (5.96) for double game players? And also what does anyone think of Stockdale (5.85) v West Brom? Cheers in advance.

  6. You can also try www.starting11.com...match previews (written by ff managers for ff managers), up to date injury news and team line-ups are posted seconds after they are reported (go to Woes and Triumphs in the run up to the deadline).

  7. How is the weather in Blackpool? What are the odds of one or both the games being canceled?

  8. Only Maxi and Kuyt could make the double, i'll be wary of Liverpool players. Blackpool can actually play a reserve team in the F.A cup but Liverpool needs a trophy and could field a very strong team.

  9. Peter, Starting11 is a great site, but isn't it just a little cheeky to put extra advertising on other peoples sites when you have no intention of even linking to these sites on your own website!

    Just saying...

  13. I think Yahoo decided to copy premierleague.com's game by removing double-weeks, but this week even premierleague.com has a double-week. There's no better way to handle this.

I mean, you can't have a separate gameweek just for Blackpool v Liverpool

  14. what the heck! i went ahead and went for 8 DG players on your advice. i know you know better than i, so i'm going for it. i didn't have a lot of big discounts anyway, so let's wish ourselves luck. go big red (for a week, anyway).

  22. I have got Gerrard, Reina and Aurelio. Only Torres worries me, and I've pretty much vowed never to pick him again. Unless liverpool dramatically up their game no players will score big. Just double their average away points to see what you should be expecting!

  23. To back that up, Torres has scored 1 away goal this season so far.

In other news Balotelli is injured, and Dzeko has apparently been bought, so could be time to sell.

  28. 10 minutes left. Swap Nasri (12.85) + Kolarov (4.43) for Maxi Rod + Steven Taylor? I'm getting frustrated at Kolarov's lack of sufficient playing time.

  29. 'Anonymous' - quite happy to link to whoever on our site!!! We are all trying to get good scores so the more info and debate the better is how I see it. If Nik wanted to have a thread on starting11.com (linking back here) that would be great too.
