Week 5 - My Team

Myhill

 Heitinga   Vermaelen   Warnock

 Young   O'Hara   Gerrard   Rosicky

    Drogba   Tuncay   Van Persie

As some of you may notice, my team is EXACTLY the same as it was when I posted it up after the barndoor closed last Sunday. It's the first time ever that I have not changed my team once in an entire week...I simply couldn't decide who to drop to get players like Hunt, Agbonlahor & Fabregas in, so in the end I have settled on this team.

There are risks, namely Rosicky, Van Persie & Heitinga's starting status, but I feel confident that all 3 will play a large part in this weekend's proceedings (and hopefully a large part in the point scoring). I think Young, O'hara & Gerrard could all return their value & I'm really pleased with my defence. I'd almost forgotten that Tuncay was even in my team, but he has a chance of getting some game time vs a poor Bolton side & any points he picks up really are a bonus.

So that's it...please post your team up and get the discussions going on who you'll be grabbing on the barndoor. And of course, good luck to everyone!

Cheers,
AM

  2. Well this is my final team for the week.

I'm not 100% happy with, but i don't think i ever will be!

    Myhill

    Verm - Sonko - Heiti

    Fab - Benayoun - Young - Rosicky

    Drogba - Benitez - RVP

    Good luck everyone!

  3. For whatever reason, Yahoo dropped Torres down to 16.60 before any matches have been played. I have him already. Do I need to save changes in order to lock him in at the lower price?

It seems like a good barn door opportunity for those who don't have him.

  4. Myhill
    Vermaelen - Warnock - Baines
    Taylor - Hunt - Rodwell - Pienaar - Rosicky
    Carew - Agbonlahor

Loaded up on Everton players this week since they've good great match-ups coming up - BLA, @ POR, STK, WLV, @ BOL
Pretty confident that Villa will score plenty against a poor Pompey defence, so went with both of their strikers (Young has been disappointing for his value and spending 17mil on someone who might not start is too much of a gamble for me)
Defence and midfield look strong, so overall I'm pleased with my team. Hopefully will gain some lost ground this week. Good luck everyone! :)

  5. I held off the urge to switch my line-up again and went with the side that I posted yesterday:

    Given
    Vermaelan GJohnson Warnock
    MTaylor Milijas O'Hara AYoung
    Drogba Tuncay Agbonlahor

In the end, I struggled with RVP/Distin vs. Agbonlahor/GJohnson but stuck to my guns and went with the latter two in the end.

Psyched for a great weekend of action...good luck everyone! Big win for Spurs at Stamford Bridge tomorrow!! COYS!!!!!!!!!

  6. Was just about to post that Gooner, everyone's beating to these things every week grrr ;)

Seems like a great option so get in there quick guys, he's at home to Hull net week!

I'm also gonna be getting Gerard back, and bringing Bily in. Depending on how Rosicky does today.

Razesh - I'm really not too happy with it, i have a feeling i'm gonna get burned with all the Arsenal players.

  7. WTF with Torres dropping?

This week I die. Not happy at all

Given (Have him at 6.02 don't want to buy back at 8.30)
    Verm Richards Givet
    Diaby Gomez Rosicky Kightly
    Torres Drogs Rooney

You see the problems. Big gamble on Rosicky and Kightly getting starts. Diaby sucks but there just wasn't anyone else for me @6.92 that looked like he could possibly put up points. (I just logged on to Yahoo and found that at the start I had 2.42 extra $$ so I just got rid of Diaby next week for Hunt, grabbed the $$ before they disappeared. I dunno why that happened)

And I have both sides in the Man derby. This may be totally stupid but its like a hedge fund. I am hoping that Given gets shelled, gets a lot of saves, Rooney gets a goal and it ends up 1-1.

I had Blini/Billy in before his groin. I dropped Rodwell for Kightly. Too many Evertonians in midfield. Was going to drop either Richards or Givet for Heitenga but again too many options for the Toffees.

The huge doubt here is Torres. I was going to change formation go with 2 up front and add back Lampard. But Torres was quoted in some paper saying he realized he has sucked and was going to make up for it. We'll see. Last chance. Sorry he lost value.

  8. This thing with Torres' value happens every Saturday after the lock. Yahoo recalculates the prices probably according to how many managers have dropped or added a player. That's why Tuncay went over 7 last Saturday and that's why Torres or Fabergas went down now.
The barn door isn't exactly the same this year.

    ReplyDelete
  9. @ Greek-Thanks didn't know that. Good info.

    ReplyDelete
  10. i dropped alexander for heitinga and look at alexanders goal. i was going on and on about burnley.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Here's my team for this week.
After reaching the top 30 overall I'm down 3000 places so have made a few changes this week.
    Myhill
    Vermaelen Sonko Clichy
    Milijas Gerrard Elliott Fabregas
    Rooney Drogba Tuncay

Have already replaced Myhill, Clichy and Elliot for next week.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Nugent's got 2 for Burnley now! I'm glad i swapped Gordon for Myhill now!

What a great start to the season for Burnley.

    ReplyDelete
  13. gordon's value should drop considerably. 3 shots, 3 goals, 1 loss. grand total, -11! i already have him on the barn door and am looking forward to see how far he'll drop in value.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Sicky on the bench!!
    EdS starts!!

    Cheers,
    ~ Keith

    ReplyDelete
  15. I count 10 points for The Beast.

    ReplyDelete
  16. RVP starts, Rosicky on the bench. AW is going with a four man backline today.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Damnit!!!

I convinced myself Eduardo wouldn't start, and there he is.

    ReplyDelete
  18. @ Mike B - I convinced myself that out of four EdS/Bendtner/Carew/Benitez, Bendtner is a starter for sure...and look at this now. They ALL started EXCEPT for Bendtner...arrrrrghh...!!! Sometimes it just makes me...arrrrrghhh!!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. get in!!! Vermaelen scores, RVP assist.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Robin with the corner, Verminator with the header. 1-0 for The Arsenal. They're looking a lot better than against Liege, even Diaby's been ok.
Also decided to stay with Rosicky and after the 70 mins mid-week I was quite sure he won't start, but will certainly come of the bench. In both of the games he's played against Wigan he has scored, so fingers crossed.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Damn, I thought Young would take penalties but Milner took it & scorer...:(

    ReplyDelete
  22. AGBONLAHOR SCORES

    ReplyDelete
  23. Haha toooo true Fidan. Earlier in the week one of my line ups included Milner too. But i downgraded certain players to accomodate Young. Pffffft.

At least we still have 45 mins.

I need Rosicky on the pitch now please Mr Wenger.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Goals for Milner AND Gabby...2 players I considered but didnt go for. Young has done nothing, Van Persie could've had a hattrick but instead has zero, Rosicky & Tuncay on the bench, not going well so far!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Keep the faith AM, RVP will score today.

    I just hope Eduardo doesnt!

    ReplyDelete
  26. First action BFAY has seen all day...the physio!

    -Neal

    ReplyDelete
  27. Vermaelen scores a peach!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. brace for vermaelen !!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. anyone else BD Nugent? he's already up to 8.30 from 5.69.

Just 7 pts for Jensen, forgot to deduct the goal he gave up :P

    ReplyDelete
  30. damn you eduardo, did it take a huge deflection though?

    ReplyDelete
  31. ramsey on for diaby ... where's rosicky?

    ReplyDelete
  32. looks like no Rosicky today :( Come oon RVP, he's been all over the place, looks great, but can't hit the target.

    ReplyDelete
  33. rosicky's off the bench !!!

    ReplyDelete
  34. spoke too soon, sicky's warming up

    ReplyDelete
  35. Burnley is a force at home. Against mid table/low sides I wouldn't be object to putting Alexander, or possibly another mid from Burnley in my side.

    Given, Verm, Heiti, Sonko
    Fabregas, MTAY, Rosicky, Hunt,
    RvP, Drogba, Tuncay

Torres cheap on the BD :D, got Gerrard back too.

    ReplyDelete
  36. My team for week 6:

    Given, Verm, Heiti, Bassong
    Hunt, Gerrard, Lennon, O'hara
    Torres, Drogba, Tuncay

Seriously, its only a matter of time before Tuncay starts. Pulis said he needed some time to adjust at Stoke. There for I find it worthwhile to keep him as long as I continue to have players pick up his slack.

    ReplyDelete
  37. There's goes Myhill and Sonkos clean sheet grrrrr

    ReplyDelete
  38. Rosicky atleast is now on the pitch! So it won't be a total loss if he can must something :D

    ReplyDelete
  39. Late goals for Fabregas & MTaylor...I've had such a bad day, picked round all the scorers again, really annoyed.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Fab scored... he has been pretty much meh the rest of the game, at least I can be a bit happier

    ReplyDelete
  41. SONKO HEADER OFF THE BAR!! Oh that would have made my day! It was between Wilk and Sonko for me, at least no CS for either

    ReplyDelete
  42. Goal Fabregas!! Good boy Cesc, thats saved my midfield performance a little

    ReplyDelete
  43. AM: Your gonna hate me. Had both MTAY and Fabregas, what a relief to see both get game closing goals!

    ReplyDelete
  44. Rosicky with a SOT! at least he'll capture some of his value back!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Haha finally a decent week. About time I'd say, but I had a late change of heart and decided to go back to my midfield of MTay, BFAY, Fabregas and boy did it pay off. Final team was this

    Myhill
    Verm, Baines, Heitinga, Warnock
    Mtay, BFAY, Fab
    Drogs, Tuncay, Benitez

My hunch on Benitez didnt work out but I sure am glad I went back to Fabregas instead of Hunt who had a worse week as I was hoping he would. I didn't skim the posts yet but how did everyon do?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Congrats on having them Kellz...I'm not having any luck at the moment mate, getting really frustrated but need to keep going as I'm sure I'll catch a break soon...still I had 2 goals, 2 assist & 2 clean sheets and have Gerrard, Drogba & Heitinga still to play so hopefully those 3 can save my week somehow.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Gordon price has dropped to 2.79, time to offload Myhill me thinks!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Good work Dave, looks like you'll have a very decent week...I need Gerrard to perform tonight to get me back in it.

Everyone else seems to be doing well - better than me anyway!

    ;)

    ReplyDelete
  49. AM: As a mighty Red's supporter if there is anyone that can SAVE you its Gerrard! I am personally dismayed I couldn't fit him in myself. However by dropping him I was able to add MTAY and Fabs. I should have put Torres for RvP though. Good luck!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Should I drop rodwell(3.65) for Hara?

    ReplyDelete
  51. i wish i didnt take verm off.!!!

got him back on bd though...

swap him for warnock.. but damn.. 2 goals??sigh

young didnt play any good at all too..

    ReplyDelete
  52. By the way, Benitez looked pretty awesome today without scoring, i'de recomend a barn dooring if you're after a cheap striker for next week. I've had him for a couple of weeks now, i'll be interested to see what he scored this week.

Young is already gone, i only got him in this week due to his match up, and he disappointed big time.

I picked up Lennon, and swapped Sonko for Bassong for next week. (Cover your eyes AM) Hopefuly Drogba destroys them tomorrow and their prices drop a little so i can get Gerrard back.

    ReplyDelete
  53. as long as my big names produce this could be a very good week for me
    (projected points, not including phantoms)
    Myhill (9)
Verm (26), Sonko (0, need pps!!!), Heiti
    Hunt (2.5), MTay (13), O'Hara (6.5), Gerrard
    Drogs, Tuncay (0), Rooney

Total: 54.5 with 4 to play (3 of them top notch)

Hopefully with some good Phantom points can push that up closer to 80

    ReplyDelete
  54. So heres my problem with Villa and namely BFAY/Gabby in terms of Yahoo Fantasy. They have the ability to score but then pick up stupid yellow cards. When they score its only 1-2 SOT. Neither sound off on a team and rattle between the posts. If anything Gabby cost people 12mil and will return 7-8pts for a goal. Thats bad. Ashley Young just doesn't get involved as he did. However Villa have a bright spot in their defenders who all out produced the midfield/forwards.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Richards OR Vermaelen??

    ReplyDelete
  56. Can anyone provide me with Torres' original price this year as his 16.?? pricetag looks way too tempting to pass up. Currently I had Fabregas, Lennon, Gerrard, and Billy in midfield but im not sure whether to swap Gerrard For Torres and use that 5 mil somewhere else.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Nevermind, disregard the last post I made. I have found my team for next week without a doubt and it looks damn impressive.

    Gordon
    Verm, Baines, G.Johnson, Heitinga
    Fabregas, Billy, Lennon
    Drogs, Tuncay, Torres

I cant see any one of these players being dropped for another one unless Gerrard commits 10 fouls and receives a red...then I MIGHT have to think about changing it.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Given OR Gordon??

    ReplyDelete
  59. @ToffeeDave:
If gerrard receives a red he won't be playing next week so that won't change anything. :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. @ Naning -

    Nice One.... =D

    @ ToffeeDave -

    "Think twice before typing"

    =P =D =P

    ReplyDelete
  61. It would get appealed just like everything else :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. im in a huge dilemna. I have a strong feeling about dropping Tuncay from my lineup in favour of Benitez who had an amazing game after reading match reports. This would mean Fabregas will have to be dropped which I dont have a problem doing, but that 5 mil could really come in handy when picking a midfield.

    ReplyDelete
  63. NANDO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thnak GOD i picked him over RvP!!

    ReplyDelete
  64. Nice Torres goal! Doesn't help me much though haha.

His new price is looking tempting

    ReplyDelete
  65. Glad I got Torres on the BD.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Yea almost dropped RvP for Nando. Shoulda gone with my instincts. But to be fair, both were good picks, RvP had 2-3 chances to pull out a brace/hat-trick, but thats why its so much fun!!

    ReplyDelete
  67. 2 Subs already for West Ham. Doesn't look good for them.

    ReplyDelete
  68. And there goes my CS for G.Johnson. Time to drop him now... maybe.

    ReplyDelete
  69. @ ToffeeDave -

Who are your Strikers for Week 6 ???

    ReplyDelete
  70. dio with a PK goal (yes i realize its diamanti or w.e., but prefer to call him dio)

Gerrard done anything of note yet?

    ReplyDelete
  71. VERMAELEN - 33.5 points!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Scores are in guys!

    How have you all done?

Seems to be alot of phantom points, i've picked up 97.5 with Benayoun, Heiti and Drogba still to come.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I am gonna stick with Drogs Torres and Tuncay but I STRONGLY ADVISE anyone who doesn't have Tuncay to pick up Benitez. I thought he was gonna be a beast earlier in the season but he never got a start to show it. Now look what he has done, he could have had 4 against Hull but he ran into a superb Myhill.

    ReplyDelete
  74. hahahaha WHAT A WEEK!!!!!!! 100 Points with Baines, Heitinga and Drogba still to play and Tuncay got me 0 as well. I am super pleased. Benitez with a sexy 12.5 with no goals.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Diamanti look excellent so far, free kick taker and penalty taker.

    ReplyDelete
  76. MTAY/Benitez/Gerrard/G.Jonson
    or
    Gerrard/Torres/Lennon/Heitinga

    Second option, right?

    ReplyDelete
  77. I actually like your first option due to Benitez because if he starts again, he will score against Bolton as they have a shite defence

    ReplyDelete
  78. Wow, I've managed to pick up 90 points with Gerrard, Heitinga & Drogba points still to come!!! Not as bad as I thought...O'Hara got as many points as Fab & MTay, whilst Young got me almost 10 points...that softens the blow :)

    Cheers,
    AM

    ReplyDelete
  79. Kuyts goal thanks god, i could do without a monster Gerard week.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Wow what happened to Pool's defense. So shitty against set piece this year.

Gerrard better gets assist for Kuyt's goal.

    ReplyDelete
  81. 78.5 points but still have Gerrard, Drogba, Heiti and Rooney to play.

Also appears Gerrard has an assist now, thanks to Kuyt deflecting Gerrard's header at goal.

Carlton Cole with a goal. Noble gets the assist

    ReplyDelete
  82. Switching Milner for Hunt cost me ~15 pts. Now it's time to really sit down and change the team.

    ReplyDelete
  83. With a team of:

    Given
    Verminator/Warnock/Distin
    O'hara/Yossi/Rosicky/MTay
    Tuncay/Drogs/RVP

Have done rather well so far, over 80 with 4 players to go. Robin was a dissapointment, though served me better than Nando last week. Rosicky with 5 points in about 20 minutes, shame he's not completely fit yet. And what about O'hara, Pompey with a 2-0 defeat and he still brings 13 points.

Early team for next week is:

    Given
    Verminator/GJohnson/Bassong
    O'hara/Yossi/Lennon/Cahill
    Tuncay/Defoe/Nando (maybe Kuyt)

Still not sure about Cahill and I have $2,5 to spare, more if I change Nando to Kuyt, but there really isn't any midfielder at around 14 I'd like to get and Torres has looked decent against Hammers. What do you guys think?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Lol yahoo is blowing up. I saw Torres' price at 17.4 refreshed and its 16.7

    ReplyDelete
  85. Have Hunt at 8.30mil hes now 9.06mil, time to drop Tuncay and Hunt to pick up Moke and Benitez. No idea why Tuncay would not be playing for Stoke, easily a better forward than Kitson

    ReplyDelete
  86. WOW! have you seen Vermaelens price now lol. 11.53!! That's a nice little discount we have ourselves there boys.

    ReplyDelete
  87. @AM: Sadly, I picked around the points in the midfield (again) but also wound up with more phantom points from O'Hara and Young than I expected. Fortunately, dropping Fabs for BFAY cost me only 4.5. (If you want 9.5 from a Villa MF, S. Petrov is much cheaper.) I have 92.5 (last week's score) with Drogs, Rooney, and Distin left to go. Can't complain, although a lot of teams have Verma alas (okay, so I can complain :)).

    -Bradley

    ReplyDelete
  88. Yay i may never be this high again so i'm going to celebrate before the rest of the points get put in. I'm 578th overall and 8th in the blod league 2. For a few hours at least =P.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Liverpool have conceeded ALL of their goals from set pieces. Time to pick up CD from the teams facing Liverpool?

    ReplyDelete
  90. time to be bold and brave.. dropped mr. 1 million.

    ReplyDelete
  91. me too ... dropped Tuncay to pick up the crazy Italian Diamante

    ReplyDelete
  92. that or Benitez.. is a move I suspect many might make this week...

    ReplyDelete
  93. HEY EYERYONE!!

STEVE BOB FC *** is 2nd Overall!!

Congrats to whoever own that team!!

    Rock On Man!!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Where did Hines come from (besides Jamaica)? He's en fuego.

@Kellz: I have Hunt at even a smaller discount than you do. Might be good to drop him before an away at Liverpool. I thought he could be a keeper, but I could always pick him up again before a home to Wigan. And I also don't understand signing Tuncay and not playing him (not even as a sub). Maybe Pulis got a "buy-one-get-one-free" deal when he picked up Huth. :)

    -Bradley

    ReplyDelete
  95. I just fooled around on the BD and ended up with this

    Given(+2.5)
    Verm(+5.5) | Givet(+1.5) | Sonko
    O'Hara(+2.5) | Lamps | Gerrard | Kightly
    Drogs(+3) | Rooney(+2.5) | Tuncay(@1.00)

Which is great for the rest of the year barring injuries or suspensions. The only problem with this is that it's totally boring. Who the heck am I going to change? The only real chance for rotation would be the Kightly spot, and there aren't many exciting choices under 5.50. But maybe this is still more fun than picking around the points every damned week like I have been lately.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Hey guys.

SteveBobFC *** is my team and Im currently as someone noted in 2nd place overall :D Increcidble. Im enjoying the moment.

If im lucky i might spend the night as leader overall with Johnson, Benayoun and Torres currently playing....print screen in that case? YES

Couldn't have done it without this blog, thats for sure.

Thanks lot AM and everyone else :)

    ////Andy

    ReplyDelete
  97. Damn right! Torres scored again. So happy that I have faith in him. Almost switched him out.

    ReplyDelete
  98. ugh torres gets a 2nd goal :(

    ReplyDelete
  99. Way to toot your own horn! Lol j/k I would too if I was higher than 2700 place

    ReplyDelete
  100. @Billythgrunt: Diamante taken off for an injury, be careful picking him up and losing out on other BD options

    ReplyDelete
  101. Thanks Kellz ;)

Now Im curious..is there any way you can see how many teams in total that are in this? Im in fans of arsenal and that group only has 32 000 members.

    ///Andy K

    ReplyDelete
  102. Andy K:
You can compare your position in the Arsena-group with your position in total.

Myself I'm 102/2576 in Everton fans. Total I'm 7778. Which would mean there should be about (2576/102) * 7778 = 196 433 teams in total. Run your numbers and see if you get a similar result.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Pretty good day for me with four players yet to lace them up....still cannot believe that Milner took the PK instead of AYoung.

Like most of us, I've BDed Torres...he could have an Arshavin day at Anfield against the Tigers next weekend. The only downside of picking him up is, since I have subscribed to the Tuncay theory (more on this below), I can't pick up Defoe since I'm not dropping Drogs. I think Defoe will go bezerk at home against Burnley next week.

For those of us with Tuncay who are lamenting our decision to buy him at 1 million - despair not. Remember: your decision to carry him should be a longterm one...he could sit and not play another two games and if he then came in and scored one goal, that would be ten points from five games with an aggregate of five million invested (1 million x five weeks). So trust me - it's still a good strategy to have him.

My early team for next week:

    Given
    Vermaelen GJohnson Turner
    MTaylor O'Hara Milijas/Billy Lennon
    Drogba Tuncay Torres

    I'm out.

    ReplyDelete
  104. PS - loving my decision to drop Jordi Gomez. Could pick him up again for .25 million less than I had him on a discount last week. Good gamble.

    ReplyDelete
  105. those who drop tuncay now will regret it later.. i'm sure of it!

    ReplyDelete
  106. Steve Bob FC - whoever you are, you are blowing up this week in Blog League Two. Well played, sir.

    ReplyDelete
  107. @Andy: Try making a new account with Yahoo and enter the game, you should be tied for last place like all the rest of the teams with 0 points. I remember the count was up to 120,000-150,000 this season down from over 200,000 last season, but new people join everyday.

    Congrats!

    ReplyDelete
  108. Seriously considering dropping Tuncay. But missed the BD on Benitez so I am gonna wait. Glad I got Torres this week and alot of others dropped him! I'd go like Hunt and benitez maybe, but I'd lose MTAY. I like having kick takers in the midfield though, so still swaying. 71.5 points, with Torres, Drogs, Given, and Gerrard to be added in. 0 from Tuncay and Wilko as well.

    ReplyDelete
  109. I propose a new idea, and a fun game to play starting the second half of the season. We should all make a new blog league and try to get the worst score possible. Person with the most negative points should win bragging rights as well as the winner of the leagues. What do you guys think? I feel it would be hilarious to see teams with -50 points in a week haha.

    ReplyDelete
  110. I have yet to save changes, but Tuncay should not be on the bench. However I still will drop Hunt for Bily next week. I doubt he'll play tomorrow with his injury midweek, but he could be a good bet versus Pompey next week.

@DoctorTeeth: I too am dismayed I cannot field a line of Torres Drogs and Defoe, I could still make a fairly powerful midfield out of dropping Gerrard and bringing in Defoe for Tuncay. However I think you are right, once he gets on the score sheet it will provide good compensation for his missed weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  111. i would love to BD torres but i've had rooney and drogba since week 1 and i'm on the tuncay bandwagon. in the long run i'm convinced rooney will put up better numbers than torres. basically until drogba leaves for the africa nations cup my strikers are set. i hope this works out. so far i'm having my best season, i'm currently ranked 129. come on rooney, prove me right.

  112. @Chris: sad, sad, sad. I told myself, "Rooney will storm this season as central striker for United". What did I do? Dropped him after week 1 for Defoe, which slightly worked but not compared to the numbers Rooney has already put up. Sad now hes 19+ mil. Come Jan. I hope he has a string of bad games to give me a reasonable 16-17mil price on him! Wishful thinking me guesses.

  114. If you have an account at www.bwin.com they show the game. Otherwise, you could just get one.

  115. Worth dropping MTAY and Roger Johnson for Sonko and Lampard? I'll have to see tomorrow what Lamps does.

  116. My team this week was:

    Given
    Vermaelen Richards Warnock
    Hunt O'Hara Fabregas Benayoun
    Defoe Drogba Bent

Deep inside my heart I know I need to change it to succeed next week, after expecting a good performance this week (87 points with Given, Richards, Benayoun, Defoe and Drogba still to get me points). I just don't know whom to drop!
Vermaelen and O'Hara have sure spots in my team, and so does Given. Hunt has a meeting with Liverpool, but I have him on a slight discount and he has good fixtures afterwards.
I'll keep Bent for Wolves, and Probably Defoe for Burnley and Drogba for Wigan as well.
    So my biggest doubts are:
Benayoun - I kept because of BD, and I still don't know how many points he got, and even if he didn't play well, I really want a Liverpool player for their Hull match.
Warnock - I really want to drop him because of his price and he didn't get much points beside of his CS, but something tells me he'll perform well against his former club.
Hunt - the most likely to fall, with 0.3 under his current price, so I can get him back after next week, but can I find a better option in his price range?

I really don't want to keep the same team twice in a row, so I'll be happy to read AM's or anyone else's advice about any change I can make.

    Thanks in advance,
    SF

  117. 91 points with Drogba, Saha and Heitinga still to play. C'mon Mr. Moyes, Jo hasn't set the world on fire and the Yak isn't ready yet.

  118. @billthegrunt: Congrats on the continued success of your "Beast" strategy, although Jensen seems to return fewer points on a win than he does on a loss. The away match at White Hart Lane next weekend should pay off well for you. :)

@Chris: I too am sticking with a Drogba/Rooney/Tuncay front line until the ANC (that 3.58 discount will be painful to give up). I'm sick of picking around the points, so I'm hoping that I'll have more luck standing pat (much like a stopped clock is right twice a day -- well, an analog one is anyway).

  119. Anyone see something against having Krancjar and Lennon next week? I definately can't have Defoe although I want him, would mean I drop Gerrard and Tuncay.

Possibly looking at a midfield of Gerrard, Lennon, Krancjar, Bily

  120. 103 with Heitinga and Drogs left, in all its been a good week. My only regret is making the wrong decision with RVP/Torres.

    Myhill served me well

My defense was all good, the Verminator was awe inspiring.

Midfield lacking, especially Young, but he's gone now for Lennon.

Particularly pleased with Benitez, 12.50 and he didn't even get on the score sheet!

Moved up the leaderboard a fair bit too which is always nice!

So far i barn doored Torres, lennon and Bassong. I'm keeping Benayoun as i think he will start from now on. He's just too good to be kept sitting on the bench.

  121. @Kellz: I don't know about Krancjar, but right now I have Gerrard, Lennon, O'Hara, and Blini for next week. Gerrard's performance today freed up some money, but hopefully now that I have him back, he'll do better against Hull at home. (By the same token, it'd be really cool if Rooney could score a hat-trick against Given tomorrow; I'd get more points from the former and more money from the latter. :)).

Mannone is now more expensive than Schwarzer, Almunia, Green, Given, Foster, Jensen, Jaaskelainen, etc.). :) He did manage to pick up 6 SVs beyond the W and CS though.

  122. Quick:
Which pair is better for next week?

    Warnock&Hunt or Bassong&Lennon

I'm leaning toward the second pair, but it's hard to decide...

    Please help!

  123. i'd go Bassong/Lennon. Actually thats what i have gone for =P

    ReplyDelete
  124. @10:02PM: Aboslutely 100% Bassong/Lennon. Many teams from this blog will have those two players, and to be different you could go Warnock/Krancjar, because hes basically the price of Hunt. But the second option is what you should choose.

  125. Wow great week for me! Sitting at 122 pts with Drogba and Heitinga left to play. Had a tough time deciding between Young/Taylor/Fabregas so I took all three en lieu of Mr.Gerrard. Young ended up being the only real disappointment, but can't complain about 9.5 pts. Very happy with picking up O'hara as well as sticking with Torres. Will be holding onto them as well as Vermaelen for a long time methinks.

Looking forward to next week! Would love to grab Defoe but am in the Tuncay/Drogba/insert striker trap like many others.

  126. How come Ricketts dosen't get an assist for Taylor's PK? He dose in the Barkley's game. Can't believe I got only 3.50 pts for him and 2.50 pts Cuellar with a CS.

    ReplyDelete
  127. @Geobfree: I would like to see Yahoo institute that practice of the player who draws the penalty getting an assist on a subsequent score, but it just isn't happening.

Also, you can't blame Yahoo for Cuellar, he got a CS but had a yellow card which is -3pts.
