Man City v Everton Gets Go Ahead

Manchester City v Everton will go ahead tonight, only the third game from the ten scheduled Week 18 fixtures able to do so.

Early rumours suggest that Carlos Tevez will start, although he'll be stripped of the captaincy. No news on how this affects Balotelli - Fantasy Football Scout predicts a 4-5-1 with Tevez alone upfront, but I'm hoping the Italian will start as I'm in desperate need of some points from him & Kolarov, with only Robbo & MGP playing for my team so far.

For those worried about the points from Blackburn v West Ham, I can reassure you they will be updated eventually, more than likely along with the points from tonight's game within the next 24 hours.

How many players have got on the pitch for your team so far? Any City/Everton players left?

Cheers,
AM

I have Tevez, Kolarov and Silva going tonight.

Hopefully these three will tear it up and lead to a big move in the standings. I moved up 21 spots to 595 with only 5.5 points from the first game on Saturday. I had Jones and Dunn from Blackburn but no clue how many points they scored. Jones could be in negative for all i know since he was a sub and immediately was crocked after coming on.

(Oh and thanks to Kevin Davies for crocking John Mensah AND pissing him off enough so that Mensah fouled some body right before limping off the pitch)

Gyan earned me 3.5 points, only Kolorov and Coleman left.
Worst thing is I made quite a few transfers at 11.30am when only 2 games were off, losing discounts only to see my newbies games get called off.

Lol, I spent 45%+ of my funds on Bent, Gyan, Elmander and Holden (and sold Barton on discount) and got amazing 13 points. Guess it's better than nothing though, have Hart, Kolarov and Silva for today, so 7 players for me.

I see some teams going full Sunderland players and it actually paid off. They had 80 plus points in the first night.

What an unfortunate weekend.

Regarding the fantasyfootballscout prediction. When has Balotelli played in place of Tevez or vice versa? I'm tired of talking about this particular issue. Balotelli even has more chance of starting than Tevez even before this current problem.

the players in my team who played so far only robbo and elmander.
as for the man city match i have mario, kolarov and silva.
hopefully they all will play and give good points.

I wouldn't be surprised if Balotelli doesn't play, simply because he's in my team. I made a few 'last minute' decisions on Saturday morning at 9:30 because I had to go out. At that point Wigan was off and Blackburn looked in danger, so I dropped MGP amongst others and added some Arsenal players. The net result is that so far I've had no players playing. Only Silva and Balotelli left - so quite a reasonable chance of negative points for the week I suppose.
Oh, and my Saturday trip ended in me getting stuck in the snow so a 15 minute journey took nearly two hours. Still as Nik's previous post showed, it could have been much worse.

Amazingly, I will have 9 players on my team play this week (thanks to some frenzied tinkering in the five minutes before the deadline)...but will be hard pressed to pass the 50 point mark. 9.5 points from Holden, Bent and Elmander so far. If I get 10 points combined from PRob, Jones and MGP, I'll be thrilled. And Kolarov, Silva and Balotelli yet to come.

i Have silva and balotelli left too..

Looks like all is well in the world now. Hopefully he will reinforce this with a hattrick tonight.

5 players in total...that is assuming my 3 Man City players are playing (Hart, Kolarov, Silva), which they should be.

Of course, one of those 5 is a bit of a stretch, as I had PJones...for all of 11 minutes...almost certainly a 0, no?

My only points so far are the 6 from Elmander, but it was enough for +83 places overall! Crazy week...

My favorite quote from mcfc.co.uk:

"There will be some changes just for tonight - the City Square toilets are frozen and will not be open..."

D'oh! A lot of yellow snow after the match?

I have 6 from Elmander but awaiting Robbo points, I estimate 4-5. Thankfully I made a last minute change at 11.50am on Saturday to bring in Balotteli, Kompany and Kolarov. My thinking was that the weather might improve!!!

I was wrong with the weather but at least Man City play.

2-0 Everton. Kolarov has two SOTs and a corner won. As I've only got him and Robbo this week cos I had to go out on Saturday I hope he does well...

i hv 8 plyrs played: robinson, kolarov, jones, silva, pedersen, petrov, elmander & welbeck. thanx to all information i got from all of u half an hour before dateline =)

Just curious, is there a single site that has a weather report on all ten games each Saturday (or gameday) during the winter-- or do we have to depend on the kindness of well-meaning strangers and locals willing to share.

Seems like games are postponed based on some local safety criteria that may vary-- but some kind of prediction would be helpful-- a few savvy, gutsy fantasy players chose many Sunderland/Blackburn players and skipped the rest. How did they make their decisions?

Anonymous said...

BTW, because of one poster, I was able to put in Bent and get 4 points, so thanks for that. Birmingham's late cancellation really threw me off, after it's website said no problem.

Thanks to Nik and Birty for alerting us all (especially those of us 10000 miles away) and doing what they could.

a straight 0 for robbo :(

Anonymous said...

"but awaiting Robbo points, I estimate 4-5"

You mean 0 surely? A 1-1 draw and he only made 1 save...

Pederson however a whopping 9.5! Delighted...

Weather forecast is poor are we in for the same guessing game this weekend as to which fixtures are off? Will a decision be made on xmas eve?

Based on last weekend Newcastle Man C might be the only game on!!!

In a week when any points are hard to come by, getting a -7.5 from Hart really, REALLY, hurts!

Ended up with 21.5 points.

After the post about goalkeepers, I decided to stick with one instead of switching, but it seriously backfired this week! Chewed up more than a quarter of my points!

Oh well, at least Arsenal_Bergkamp extended his lead...congrats!

Anonymous said...

Kolarov is awesome, 16.5 without an assist, a goal or CS

Arsenal_Bergkamp said...

I just realize I didn't benefit any points with my last time changes.

Coleman => jones -6
RVP =>Bent +4
Meireles=>richardson +4.5
Brunt => Holden -2.5

Net 0 pt

I am still happy because it could be worse if I picked obinna or Lee PLUS 10 extra points on the lead. I hope I can hang in there for another week at the mid season point.

After 16 gameweeks, I ditched Hart to get a high price (non playing) snow Midfield and put in Carson who did not play, so completely by accident I avoided a 7.5 drop, -- of course the reason I play like the rookie I am and won't get above 8000th place is I dropped Kolarov two weeks ago.

21.5 points this week meant I dropped 90 spots. At least Jones got a zero and not negative.

Kellz said...

55pts with PRobbo, Coleman, Kolarov, MGP, Balotelli, Welbeck all playing

Moved from 490th to 280th! Monster week!

So far atm:

PRobbo
Bale, Coleman, Kolarov
Nasri, VDV, Brunt, Jarvis
Balotelli, Rooney, Davies

Not completely happy but really my team won't be set until 30min before the deadline on Sunday

Hey everyone, make sure you have Balotelli this week

What a c***

I think it is a good idea for someone to post information about last clashes result between each team during the 18 week so we can predict the result example like this week : aston villa vs tottenham....so what about tottenham vs aston villa on the last half season?

Mell fantasyonthego said...

The Everton win was quite surprising based on both teams contrasting form; Everton, no win in eight but never lose an away match while City are undefeated in seven and only conceded five goals at home prior to the match. Due to the possibility of postponements, only venues near Liverpool & Newcastle facing a threat I presumed based on the forecast, any others?

Like i said pay attention to past results, everton have performed well against Citeh, 4 straight away wins now.

Balotelli clearly has freedom of speech and i see a nobody calling him names.

Please keep us up to date with weather news if u have time this w-end|
Thanks

@ pauly : u should check his previous team, there was no change at all.

Bojan--well done. Do you live in England? What triggered you to change so many players last minute? I changed a couple.

I misinterpreted (or was fooled) by Birmingham's insistence it would play the game up to about two minutes before our deadline (at least that's when I saw the news). Also, I never understood that London games could be postponed-- that surprised me.

... As far as points for all the postponed matches go, word from Yahoo! HQ is that these will be automatically added to your scores for this gameweek once the matches are finally played. Confirmation of this should follow soon...

From the Fantasist, http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/fantasy-football-blog/article/27944/

This is raising my eyebrow, and I am sure it will raise yours too. Not too sure what to make of it at this point in time.

But it can only mean that when these postponed games are played in the future, they surely cannot be included in the schedule for that gameweek. Potentially a confusion?

Or am I reading this wrongly?

greginho said...

that will be beneficial for me, because by the time the games come around van der vaart will be healthy.
it kinda sucks too, because who is to say that nasri and tchoyi will be in the same form, in a month or two, when they make up the games.

Bojan said...

i am from Croatia but this snow mess happened last season also... and the unwritten rule in this situation is pick all players from game that is surely on...
