Yahoo! Technical Difficulties

My internet disaster on Saturday morning (costing me goals from Chamakh, Cahill & a Verm CS) combined with a lack of Walcott (because of the uncertainty over his starting status) or Andy Carroll means I wasn't in a huge rush for the points to come in on Saturday night, but it's now Monday and it's all getting a bit ridiculous.

We do however have an update on the YFF homepage...
MESSAGE TO ALL PLAYERS
We are currently experiencing technical issues with points scoring in Fantasy Football. Our engineers are fixing this issue and all points will be awarded correctly as soon as possible.
So fingers crossed we'll see an update after the Man City v Liverpool game tonight, but I won't be holding my breath.

After missing the Drogba hattrick in Week 1 things really could not have started any worse for me, but there were 2 things that did make me happy this weekend: (1) Spurs grabbing a vital win at Stoke despite missing 5 first team players, and (2) Discovering many of our readers had outstanding fantasy weeks, with some of you having as many as 10 goals...I expect to see many of you approaching the Week 2 Top 50, maybe even the Overall Top 50, which would be fantastic!

The whole point of starting this blog was to help people become more successful, so if my posts or the great advice from our community has helped in any way then it makes all the effort (and on this occasion, the devastation) all worth it!

Cheers,
AM

Booooooo. I have 9 goals, a penalty save, and at least 3 assists (Drogba), so I would like points NOW please.

sadly i only managed 5 goals, a number of assists, a penalty save and still have balotelli to come tonight. any other week i would have been seriously happy with that! but i feel i missed out on walcott (although i hadnt even considered him) and carroll (i HAD considered him but plumped for Mario instead. He better score 4!

I should be around 100 points and torres to go...good luck to all players...

7 goals 3 assists 2 cs and hart to come although i hope he concedes plenty

Balotelli not even on bench...Silva doesn't start. Great.

Never mind AM, you had a bad start last year too and brought it back nicely in the last 10 weeks...

i have a bad blog story, having Carroll, Nolan and Arshavin in my team, being convinced here to make the changes to Dorrans, Silva and Arteta...

Sometimes you wish you hadn't opened your computer!!

But i know I clicked save changes so no-one to blame but myself!!

Anyone else having problems with yahoo?

Yahoo having technical difficulties. Well now there's a first!(sighs begrudgingly accepting defeat) Always when I have a good week.

Anyone else think that new Adidas track is good.... "my coach says..." I'm fat and it makes me nearly want to do excercise. Please excuse me, just filling time during half time adverts waiting for Liverpool to carry on the pants performance.

Does Anyone Know When Yahoo will be on or fixed i really need to get on

No Balotelli, so I'm done for the week. Didn't cash in on the goal flood, unfortunately. Only 4 goals for the week. Expecting a drop when the points finally come through.

Still, it's tough to make any changes since I've got Bale, Drogba, Malouda, Arteta and only 0.1 left to spare. I could get rid of Arteta, since so far he hasn't impressed as much as he did at the end of last season. We'll see...

98 points first week, 10 goals, 5 assists, 2 clean sheets and a pen save. OMG yahoo are so backward but my points aren't!!

ur saying everything to make ur week feel better huh...i wud too

Assistant Manager said...

Sounds like a few of you could be approaching 200 points this week!!!

Lee B - Amazing, you could be close to the overall top 10!

Anon @ 10:26pm - thanks for your pointless input.

Anon @ 10:50pm - Tell me about it mate, but hopefully they'll have it corrected tomorrow. They need to sort things out for good though, because their start to his season has been really poor...a bit like mine :)

All good AM - I owe my thanks to you for helping me with suggestions on players. First week I had 106.5 pts. and was top 10 in the YFF 'Fantasy SuperLeague 4', first in the 'AM blog League 1'! Week 2 I had...

Foster
Bale-Carr-Fauber
Malouda-Arshavin-Albrighton-Adam
Carroll-Chamkh-Droga

I made the right choices considering the options you made and it worked out quite well! Week 1 overall ranking was 606, Week 2 overall ranking 200 hopefully(once Yahoo! gets their heads down their arse!)

By the way, my team name is
'Los Once Guevones'!!!

I don't know if this good streak of fortune will keep on coming since I dropped Drogba for next week but I'm trying a new strategy this year which is bringing in players with better match-ups and ignoring discounts somewhat. Good luck to all and I support everyone on this blog and hoping many make it to the top 10 this season!

thank you AM for the tips. i greatly enjoy reading the blogs and i hope you keep doing it ! =)

My bet dropping Carroll last minute to make way for better defender and it will cost me dearly..looking forward already for this week matches esp Man U vs W. Ham and Liv vs WBA..i'm thinking to drop Drogba and make way for Rooney (if he fits) and find surplus for Gerrard or Torres in order to catch up in my private league

5 goals, 3 assists, 1 cs, 1 penalti save...and im still in bad mood.

You guys are always criticizing Yahoo for not doing a good job in updating the scores etc... but never thought that yahoo is giving this "free service" to all of us.. imagine that one day yahoo decided not to support this... what will be left for us.. NOTHING.. no more fantasy football from yahoo.. then let's see how u ask for the pts... be graceful of what is provided to you for free .. :)

Have people not contemplated that with all the abnormal results (6-0's) that the game algorithm has created some very unusual player values (up and down) and that is what they are fixing???

Always nice for your own ego to see how well you did but Im sure I can sprint the first hundred metres of a marathon with the elite.....

PS. Loving the fact I actually have a barn door opportunity...probably one of the few unless us Aussies become nocturnal

@Anon 4:06 AM:

This is not the only fantasy game...

sorry to hear about your week AM, but the other comment was right, you'll be a late bloomer again i'm sure. last year i remember thinking i had you beat by a really wide margin, only to have you tear through me and get completely out of my reach by seasons end. btw, love the simpsons image.

@Anony 4:06 a.m. - free for us, makes money for yahoo with advertising and probably a good chunk of change, so at the very least i expect them to run the game in a consistent manner.
@Anon 6:22 a.m. - is that you Joey Barton?

Hart
Baptiste Terry Bale
Lee Davies Scholes Malouda
Kali Drog Carroll

This is the last straw for me, Yahoo take the piss with their lax treatment of the FF. I have entered a team on the official site and have deleted my Yahoo team. There is therefore 1 free space on AM Blog League 2 and Beat the Bloggers 5. Good luck to all.

Yahoo is not letting me log on to my mail wtf

Kavedas said...

Cant believe it , YFF is great play but the guys running it are making it bad , many will delete their teams and play another fantasy games , there are alot free games , not just Yahoo
the point system in this game is the most enjoyable , i hope they can fix the errors in the FUTURE :(

Anonymous said...

I'm sick of Yahoo. I'm closing my team and moving to the official game. This is just terrible service, they are monkeys.

Ian Sanderson said...

I know we're all frustrated but this blog is not for whinging about points not being added or complaining about Yahoo.
It's for discussing team selection, tactics and having a bit of football banter.
So....who is worth bringing in before their price rockets?
Hart at 8ish looks a bargain as his 2 clean sheets will make him unaffordable for many, obviously Drogba is appealing at 21ish.

Anonymous said...

Do we think Reina will drop to about 8ish when Yahoo update?

My forward 3 at the moment is Drog, Pav & Carroll.

I got an incline Torres will do something this week, but cant face losing Drogba.

Any ideas

Thanks
LC

MAN CITY 3-0 LIVERPOOL...

nothing else can say regarding the result. Man City deserved that especially with milner in their team..what i cant understand is why in the world did Hodgson use 4-4-2!!!! i dont think torres and Ngog can work together well..just stick to 4-2-3-1!!! just cant understand, hopefully they can get a big big win against West Brom..one more thing, dont lose Masch!!

p/s: gonna bet liver 5-0 wes brom ^_^
cheers!

POINTS!!!!!!!!!

They are slowly getting added now, boom. Started with Newcastle team.

Anonymous said...

134 for the week. -5 for Zigic :(

Was picking between him and Carrol on Saturday :(

Anonymous said...

not bad for my 1st games played YFF (106pt)! quite happy although regretted with the selection of Howard (big O), Carr (1 pt), Kalinic (1.5 pt) & C. Adam (6.5pt)..missed the 1st game since I just knew this game lately..

Guys, is it ok if I still use Carr service? it seems to be a bad choice..or else, can somebody suggest me the most valuable defend for the price of 5.97?

Hope all of u get a good result too! =)

204,5 points!!

What a week! I have Jussi, Bale, Malouda, Drogba and Carroll on my squad and still drop seven places in my blog league.

congrats AM,
there are 2 of your readers in top 10
I would like to say a big thx for your opinions

Really confused now, I added players this week in the barndoor but didn't save the team (even though its full) and I now have an available kitty of -1.7 and i'm unable to save it? Do Yahoo have a clue what they're doing? Surely they understand that Barndooring is part of the game?

Lamin said...

Most managers from this group must have done well. I got 121 for week 2. My global ranking went up but my ranking dropped in the blog league. Well done everyone.

Anonymous said...

I think there are at least 3 AM'ers in the Top Ten, but only two are marked "AM." The third is Kak rOkiAH FutBol KElaB, the current leader in my blog league. Congratulations!

Bradley said...

@Rob: To barndoor you actually have to save your changes *before* the prices change.

Only 113 points. I'm stinking up the joint so far this season. As both owner and manager, I may just have to fire myself.

Congratulations to those of you who managed to profit from this week's points windfall.

m.city has turned into one scary team in the Premier League. This team should always be calculated by the opponent, not only by Liverpool, but the other teams as well
