Barndoor Update

I realised I forgot to post up my current barndoor team last night. It is as follows...

Now this is by no means close to my final team, it was just a bunch of "quick grab him before his price rises" picks. Drogba, Billy, Verm, Fabregas, Heitinga will almost certainly stay, Bent might keep his place, as might Gordon, but KPB will probably go, Dunn definitely will & I'm unsure on Van Persie. I'll also try to afford better than Sonko despite a home fixture.

I really want some Man City & Spurs players in, meaning people like Given, Tevez, Bellamy, Adebayor, Kranjcar, Bassong Lennon, Keane & Crouch will all come in to consideration. I may also think about some Chelsea players...Anchelotti is sure to change things after yesterday's defeat & I reckon Blackburn could feel the backlash, so Joe Cole & Zhirkov are players I'll be keeping a close eye on.

Not long now, about 3 hours till Blackburn & Burnely kick off, so I'm looking forward to seeing how Robbo & Dunn get on. With my luck they'll probably both get sent off.

Who are you currently holding on to for Week 9.

Cheers,
AM

I'm excited!!What a day it was! And plus i'm kinda heavy on booze.,and also i'm experiencing a MOJOE hangover
So dont pay heed to my typos!
I got 62 points from just 5 playas!!

Billy,Verma,Saha,Bent & Giggs made my day!

Also i'm really looking forward to Sunday's games,Jus coz i have the Blackburn trio - PRoblem/Givet/Dunn and the Hull duo - Sonko/Geovanni and Mr.BADebayor still to play!
So I'm pretty much excited , what with 4 of the bove mentioned guys having a chance to net me some goal(s) !!

Also,

Heya AM -

Pretty Average week for me.72.5 points from 7 players.Still have Dunn,Gael and PRob to play,.
Ohh and also Sonko.Am looking to reach 100 (Hopefully)!

I will be missing out on the Barndoor today. :(
Is it going to be costly??

Also,
Here's my early Week 9 Team -

Given
Verma/Sonko/Heiti/*HUNCH*
Cesc/Billy/OHara
Bent/Adebayor/*HUNCH*(Under 10)

My only doubtfuls are Heiti and Adebayor.I am also contemplating Myhill for this week as he's dirt cheap and will CERTAINLY get many saves. If i drop Heiti and go with Myhill,I would get enough funds for azza Lennon. Both my hunches are REAL Dark horses! My striker hunch has never been owned by more than 0.3% of the YFF Managers.
So I'm looking to cover some ground.
And also, I jumped 347 Places and am sitting at 2,424 overall currently. And I jumped 989 places in the Fans Group. BUT! Surprisingly I dropped some ten places in the Blog League 3!!
So we all know where the acctual competition is! ;-)

AM -
You Rock Dude!!Thanks for all the hard work put in to help us newbie's!

Spurs 4 life baby!! \m/ !!

Cheers,
Michael!

Hi guys, here is my BD team, got Bent, Arshavin and KPB right after games, sitting on with a 63.5 points, waiting Robbo, Dunn and Adebayor to do some miracles today...

Picture 2.png

Banging my head to the walls, after seeing KPB and Abu Daiby performance. A friend just called from Istanbul literally couple of seconds ago, cursing on Abu Diaby as well, damn him : ) kept him for some weeks, and he only returns 3-4 points, even minus, dropped him, then he is 20+. Same with KPB, had him all through the week, then changed with Giggs, not bad but still could get another 10...

Anyways very interesting week... Lets see what is going to happen today? All the best

Apperantly i can not paste screen shots... Here is the BD team:

Robbo
Verm / Heitinga / Carlisle (will drop him)
Billy / Dunn (will drop him) / Arshavin / KPB (am not sure of him)
Drogz / Bent / Adebo

Btw, realized watching yesterday's game Heitinga is playing midfield? Or was it me trying to cope with 5 games at a time and start halucinating?

Hi,

Just an interesting point on this weeks YFF.

Only Sunderland have kept a clean sheet this weekend so far, so ie, nobody got clean sheet points at all unless they had Sunderland defenders (which would be rare in the extreme).

I wonder if there are stats to see what % had a defender from Sunderland?

Cheers

Gordon(4,06)
Vermaelen(7,32)
Bardsley(7,14)
L. King(8,47)
Fab 4(16,58)
KPB(6,97)
Bily(4,71)
M Taylor(15,36)
Hudd(6,88)
Drogba(10,66)
Diamanti(8,78)

3,03 left to spend

for now just Bily, Verm and Drogba are safe

Consider Villa players, at Wolves next week and then a two-gamer, at EVE and at WHM.

And thanks for the KPB call.....

Hey AM I posted this in the last thread and repeat it here to make sure you see it.

Sorry. The WTF didn't come out as intended. What I was surprised at was your picking 4 defenders instead of 3 with a couple of iffy point scorers. If I didn't have my head up my ass over Arsenal's midfield muddle I would have picked Gibbs too. My bad.

As for next week. I don't want to think about it anymore until the after the CL games and the injury news gets firm. The Liverpool/ManU match up at this point leaves me totally at sea. If uninjured I don't know whether to try and fit Torres and Rooney back in or wait another week.

Again AM, I am sorry. I didn't mean any disrespect, it just didn't come out right.

I picked up Gomes before his price shot up. Stoke is not great away from home. Picked up Collins as well. I guess I should drop Dunn after this week, because he has two bad matchups soon. It's just that he's playing so well.

Can't wait to see what Bullard does. I'm a big fan. He had a huge impact at Fulham. If he had not gotten injured for the two years ago, they would not have struggled to stay up. I think he may have a similar impact with Hull. And hopefully he's his usual brilliant fantasy self.

i'm also unsure about RvP. i've had him the past 2 weeks and he's gotten me 27.5. that seems good but when you pay over 18 you expect more than that. i'll probably end up dropping him for adebayor. my big question is lampard. i wan't to pick him up but i've lost faith after his performances thus far. knowing my luck he'll bang in a couple.

michal brown from portsmouth shown 2 yellow & a red last day..so there will be total of -3*2 + -6 = -12 pts.
but in points break-out only the red card counted.why??

I was away on Friday and asked my cousin to drop Torres, Sonko, Milner for RVP, Giggs, O'shea. He forgot to make changes on friday. It's even worse that he made the changes on Sat after the deadline, so I lost the big discount on Torres and sonko. However, I think I should be glad that I only lost around 15-20pts and hoping sonko will get some pts on monday.

1st season in fantasy league, Lesson learned. I should have dropped Torres on Thurs evening. Now, I only have 71pts with sonko left.

Thanks AM and others for the earlier advise to pick up Bily, otherwise this would discourage me to keep playing the game. At the end, I Bded Bent and MTAY.

99.5pt week. I feel really good compared to some other teams performances. Next week will be interesting, Citeh just don't seem to be able to put more than 1 goal past the majority of their opponents. Maybe that will change at home to Fulham.

So far my team is:
Given, Verm, Bassong, Mears
Lennon/Giggs, Billy, Arshavin, KPG
Drogba, Bent, Crouch

Crouch is cheap and will play b/c of Defoe red card. But still could make many changes

Well Richards is a disappointment, isn't he? 3 fouls commited, and nothing more. Nothing. I'm still not so sure about him, because he might play against Fulham. Though considering that ManC almost never get CS... it's an annoying decision to make.
Maybe I'll take Bassong, he has more chance for CS.
Given is amazing - as usual. I can't believe I even thought replacing him with Gordon. He's by far the best keeper for fantasy, the best in the EPL. At least the most stable of all.
I have extra 2, and RvP+Nugent up front. Maybe I'll upgrade Nugent to Crouch, maybe I'll replace both for Bent and another one, though te first option seems better to me. Any comments?

AM,

I had O'Shea as well. I notice you have now dropped him. Do you think O'Shea has lost the starting spot, or are you just looking for someone who will definitely start every week?

And Toffee Dave,

Thanks for the recommendation of Dunn. Do you think this was a one off thing, or is he worth keeping for a while?

I think Richards will be playing right back next weekend, which should see him bombing up the wing. More chance for points in that postion. I'm holding on to him.

I've dropped Richards for Bassong for now, maybe I'll get on him later. To be honest, I still remember his performance against ManU as a right back... and that's a tough image to erase.
Now I have RvP and Crouch in front, because of a slight discount on RvP. I've considered other options and the most attractive from them was Adebayor&Bent.
It's hard to compare between Adebayor and Crouch (lacks of) consistancies (Adebayor looked helpless today, and to decide in another way than a coin toss who from RvP/Bent will score. I'll appriciate any help, comment and advice.

@ Gooner, re: Dunn - his performances have actually been pretty consistently good (in real life an YFF-wise). Big Sam has said he has found the ideal spot for Dunny: in behind a lone striker, which is why only one striker starts for Rovers these days.

That said, he may not be worth hanging on to, as he faces Chelsea and ManU next, so there may not be many YFF points for him.

Gooner said...

Thanks Dave,

Brutal schedule for Blackburn. Anyone want to predict Robbo's price after he faces Chelsea and ManU?

@razesh
two yellow card is counted as one red card.
so only -6 for the points.
correct me if i`m wrong.

Why isnt anyone considering Myhill?
